Facundo Conte
Facundo Conte (born 25 August 1989) is an Argentine professional volleyball player who plays as an outside hitter for Ciudad Vóley and the Argentina national team. Conte won a bronze medal at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020. Personal life Facundo was born in Vicente López, Argentina. His father, Hugo Conte, is a former volleyball player who was part of the national team that won a bronze medal at the 1988 Olympic Games. He finished his secondary studies in Centro Cultural Italiano in Olivos. Career Facundo's first participation with the Argentine national volleyball team took place during the U19 World Championship (4th place) in 2007. He debuted at the senior level during the 2008 America's Cup, held in Brazil (4th place). Volleyball At The 2020 Summer Olympics – Men's Tournament
The men's tournament in volleyball at the 2020 Summer Olympics was the 15th edition of the event at the Summer Olympics, organised by the world's governing body, the FIVB, in conjunction with the IOC. It was held in Tokyo, Japan from 24 July to 7 August 2021. It was originally scheduled to take place from 25 July to 8 August 2020, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the IOC and the Tokyo 2020 Organising Committee announced on 24 March 2020 that the 2020 Summer Olympics would be delayed to 2021. Because of this pandemic, all matches were played behind closed doors. France won their first gold and overall medal with a 3–2 win over the Russian team that competed as the ROC. Hugo Conte
Hugo Néstor Conte (born April 14, 1963) is a volleyball coach and retired player from Argentina, who represented his native country in three Summer Olympics. He was born at Buenos Aires. He currently coaches Volley Cavriago in Italy. After having finished in sixth place at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles Conte was a member of the men's national team that claimed the bronze medal four years later in Seoul, South Korea. Twelve years later he was on the squad ending up in fourth place at the 2000 Summer Olympics. He is considered to be one of the 8 greatest Volleyball players of all time, and the best Argentinian player, next to Waldo Kantor. With Italian Santal Parma, he won the 1984 European Champions League. Argentina Men's National Volleyball Team
The Argentina national volleyball team represents Argentina in international men's volleyball and is controlled by the Argentine Volleyball Federation (''Federación del Voleibol Argentino'' in Spanish, and abbreviated "FeVA"). The Argentina team made their international debut at the South American Championship in Rio de Janeiro in 1951, claiming fourth place. The 2023 Men's South American Volleyball Championship was the 35th edition of the Men's South American Volleyball Championship held in Recife, Brazil and organised by South America's governing volleyball body, the Confederación Sudamericana de Voleibol (CSV). The Men's South American Volleyball Championship is the official competition for senior men's national volleyball teams of South America, organized by the Confederación Sudamericana de Voleibol ( CSV).
