''Face to Face'' is the sixth album released by R&B singer Evelyn "Champagne" King on RCA Records in 1983. It was produced by André Cymone, Leon Sylvers III, Foster Sylvers, and Joey Gallo. Background Straying from the post-disco sound prominent in her most commercially successful releases ''I'm in Love'' and ''Get Loose'' she embarked on a "punk funk" sound, moving towards the musical territory of Prince and the alike. In charge of the album production and musical direction was Leon Sylvers III, SOLAR Records producer known for his work for Shalamar and The Whispers, and Andre Cymone, a former bass player for Prince, replacing Kashif and Paul Lawrence Jones III. Evelyn "Champagne" King
Evelyn "Champagne" King (born July 1, 1960) is an American singer, songwriter, and record producer. She is best known for her hit disco single "Shame", which was released in 1977 during the height of disco's popularity. King had other hits from the early through the mid–1980s including; " I'm in Love" (1981), "Love Come Down" (1982) and " Your Personal Touch" (1985). Biography Evelyn King was born on July 1, 1960, in New York, New York, and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She is one of eight children. King's childhood nickname was "Bubbles." Micki Free (born May 20, 1955) is a guitarist and singer of Native American descent. He won a Grammy Award for his contribution to the ''Beverly Hills Cop'' (1984) movie soundtrack and has won two Native American Music Awards. He is the director of Promotions and Special Events for the Seminole Tribe of Florida, owners of Hard Rock International. Marlo Henderson was an American guitarist and saxophonist, who played in mainly blues and R&B genres. As a session musician he played on albums such as '' Off the Wall'' by Michael Jackson, '' Them Changes'' by Buddy Miles, '' Face to Face'' by Evelyn "Champagne" King, ''I Am''. He also played on the "Girlfriend" song by Paul McCartney. Alton McClain And Destiny
Alton McClain and Destiny was an American disco girl group from Los Angeles, California. Formed in 1978, the trio was composed of McClain, Delores Marie "D'Marie" Warren, and Robyrda Stiger. They signed to Polydor Records in the year of their formation and Frank Wilson produced their debut set. It was released as a self-titled album early in 1979 but then was repackaged under the title ''It Must Be Love'' several months later. The title track was released as a single and charted, but the second album did not sell well. The group was dropped less than a year after its release and they split in 1981. McClain later married producer Skip Scarborough and continued working in the music industry. Kashif Saleem (born Michael Jones; December 26, 1956 – September 25, 2016) was an American multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter, record producer, artist, composer, author, director and educator from New York City.
