Fabian Kasi
Fabian Kasi is an accountant, bank executive, and businessman in Uganda, the third-largest economy in the East African Community. He is the managing director and chief executive officer of the Centenary Bank, the fourth-largest commercial bank in the country as of 31 December 2013, with over US$573 million in assets. Background and education Kasi was born in 1967 in the town of Matugga in Wakiso District in the Central Region of Uganda. He attended St. Charles Lwanga Primary School Matugga for his elementary schooling. He studied at St. Mary's College Kisubi for his O-level and A-level education. Matugga is an urban centre in the Central Region of Uganda. The town is a rapidly developing residential neighborhood in Gombe division of Nansana municipality in Wakiso District. The economy of Uganda has great potential and appeared poised for rapid economic growth and development. Uganda is endowed with significant natural resources, including ample fertile land, regular rainfall, and mineral deposits. Before Uganda's independence in 1962, the main banks in Uganda were Barclays (UK based); Grindlays (also UK), Standard Bank (South Africa based) and the Bank of Baroda from India. The currency was issued by the East African Currency Board, a London-based body.
