DFB Pokal
The DFB-Pokal ( is a German knockout football cup competition held annually by the German Football Association (DFB). Sixty-four teams participate in the competition, including all clubs from the Bundesliga and the 2. Bundesliga. It is considered the second-most important club title in German football after the Bundesliga championship. Taking place from August until May, the winner qualifies for the DFL-Supercup and the UEFA Europa League unless the winner already qualifies for the UEFA Champions League in the Bundesliga. The competition was founded in 1935, then called the '' Tschammer-Pokal''. The first titleholders were 1. FC Nürnberg. In 1937, Schalke 04 were the first team to win the double. The North Baden Cup (German: ''Badischer Pokal'' or ''BFV-Pokal'') is one of the 21 regional cup competitions of German football. The winner of the competition gains entry to the first round of the German Cup. Thomas Strunz
Thomas Strunz (born 25 April 1968) is a German former professional footballer who played mostly as a defensive midfielder. Over the course of 12 seasons, he amassed Bundesliga totals of 235 games and 32 goals, representing in the competition Bayern Munich and Stuttgart. He won 12 major titles with the first club. Strunz gained 41 caps for Germany in nine years. He was part of the squad that won Euro 1996. The SpVgg Ludwigsburg was a German association football club from the city of Ludwigsburg, Baden-Württemberg. History The club was formed in 1907 under the name of 1. FC Ludwigsburger Kickers. In August 1907, the club then played its first game, a 0–2 loss to FC Vorwärts Stuttgart-Ostheim. In 1909, the club entered the local ''C-Klasse'', beginning its area of competitive football. The First World War took a heavy toll on the relatively new club, of its 100 members, 35 did not return from the war. The Verbandsliga Nordbaden is a German amateur football division administered by the Baden Football Association, one of the 21 German state football associations. Being the top flight of the Baden state association, the Verbandsliga is currently a level 6 division of the German football league system.
