FK Pohronie
FK Pohronie is a Slovak football team, based in the town of Žiar nad Hronom. The club currently competes in 2. Liga. The 2019/20 season was the first time in the club's history that the team played in Fortuna Liga, the highest level of the Slovak football league system. The club avoided relegation that season, and continued in the top division for the 2020/21 season. In the 2021/22 season the team was relegated. History On 1 June 2012, Sokol Dolná Ždaňa and FK Žiar nad Hronom reached an agreement regarding the running of the new club. Mestský štadión Žiar nad Hronom is a multi-use stadium in Žiar nad Hronom, Slovakia. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home ground of Fortuna liga team FK Pohronie. The stadium holds 2,309 people. In 1989 and 1999 it has hosted the final match of Slovak Cup. Reconstruction In 2016 began reconstruction of the stadium. Original capacity 12.910 was decreased to 2,309 spectators (all-seated). The estimated cost is €2 million. Slovak government provided €750,000 of the cost. James Michael Weir (born 4 August 1995) is an English professional footballer who plays as a midfielder. Born in Preston, Lancashire, he began his career as a youth player with Preston North End and then joined the Manchester United academy. He only made one appearance for Manchester United before leaving for Hull City in 2016, but also failed to break into the first team there, and spent the second half of the 2016–17 season on loan to Wigan Athletic. After returning, his appearances for Hull were sporadic, and he left for Bolton Wanderers in 2019. Adler Da Silva Pereira (born 28 December 1998) is a Swiss professional footballer who plays as a forward for Polish club Stal Rzeszów, on loan from Slovan Bratislava. Club career Pohronie In January 2021, Da Silva joined Pohronie on loan from from Stade Nyon, with the Slovak first division club having the option to make the transfer permanent. 2020–21 Slovak First Football League
The 2020–21 Slovak First Football League (known as the Slovak Fortuna liga for sponsorship reasons) was the 28th season of first-tier football league in Slovakia since its establishment in 1993. Slovan Bratislava were the defending champions for the second successive year, after picking up the domestic double in the previous season. Slovan successfully defended their title, winning their third consecutive title and record-extending 11th Slovak title overall. Patrik Abrahám (born 10 December 1991) is a Slovak footballer who last played Pohronie, in the 2. Liga, as a midfielder. Career Spartak Myjava Abrahám made his professional debut for Spartak Myjava against FC ViOn Zlaté Moravce on 16 July 2016.
