The FIS Snowboarding World Championships 2009 took place between January 17 and January 24 in Hyundai Sungwoo Resort close to Duwon-ri in Hoengseong County in Gangwon, South Korea. FIS Snowboarding World Championships
The FIS Snowboarding World Championships is the world championship organized by the FIS for Snowboarding. It was first held in 1996 and is now held every odd year. The championship events include Big air, Half-pipe, Parallel giant slalom, Parallel slalom, Slopestyle and Snowboard cross for both genders. Holly Crawford
Holly Crawford (born 10 February 1984) is an Australian half-pipe snowboarder. She competed in the 2006 Winter Olympics and placed 22nd and 12th in her qualification runs. She ranked 19th out of 34 competitors and did not make the final. Crawford also competed in the 2010 Winter Olympics and finished 8th in the final having qualified 1st in the semifinals. She missed out on direct qualification to the final by one place, finishing 7th in the qualifying round. She won a silver medal in halfpipe at 2013 FIS Snowboarding World Championships, behind American Arielle Gold. She competed for Australia at the 2014 Winter Olympics in the snowboarding events. Jiayu Liu
Liu Jiayu (born 17 September 1992 in Hegang) is a Chinese Snowboarding, snowboarder whose specialization is the half-pipe. She has six World Cup Victories and a halfpipe victory at the FIS Snowboarding World Championships 2009. She began snowboarding in 2003, switching over from martial arts at the relatively late age of 11. Liu competed for China at the 2010, 2014, and 2018 Winter Olympics, where she achieved 4th, 9th, and 2nd place, respectively. Liu is from Hegang but moved to Harbin for winter sports training. Helene Olafsen (born 21 February 1990) is a Norwegian snowboarder. She placed tenth overall in the 2007-08 Snowboarding World Cup, and fifth in her special event boardercross, where she collected 3570 of her total 4160 points. She took her first victory in a World Cup event in March 2007, and finished fifth at the 2007 Winter X Games. In 2021, she participated on the Norwegian TV series '' Norges nye megahit'', on which various celebrities competed to create a hit song. Olafsen sang "Ludvig Daae", named after a real man who owned a slalom centre and had "strong opinions about behavior on the slalom slope".
