FIS Ski Tour 2020
The FIS Ski Tour 2020 was a cross-country skiing competition held as a part of the 2019–20 FIS Cross-Country World Cup. This stage event took place in Sweden and Norway, on ski resorts well-known from other skiing disciplines like alpine skiing or biathlon. The tour began in Östersund, Sweden on 15 February 2020 and concluded with the pursuit stage in Trondheim, Norway, on 23 February 2020. It consisted six stages, which were awarded with reduced number of World Cup points. For the overall standings they received three times the World Cup points compared to a regular individual World Cup event. 2019–20 FIS Cross-Country World Cup
The 2019–20 FIS Cross-Country World Cup was the 39th official World Cup season in cross-country skiing for men and women. The season began on 29 November 2019 in Ruka, Finland and concluded on 8 March 2020 in Oslo, Norway. The Sprint Tour, a stage event scheduled in Quebec City and Minneapolis on 14–17 March 2020 was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic. The same reason forced the cancellation of World Cup scheduled in Canmore on 20–22 March 2020, including mixed relay. Martin Løwstrøm Nyenget
Martin Løwstrøm Nyenget (born 1 April 1992) is a Norwegian cross-country skier. He competed in four events at the 2012 Junior World Championships, winning a bronze medal in the relay. He later recorded two 6th places at the 2014 Junior World Championships and a fifth place at the 2015 Junior World Championships. He made his World Cup debut in March 2014 in the Holmenkollen 50 km race, collecting his first World Cup points in March 2015 in Lahti with a shock fourth place. International Ski Federation
The ''Fédération internationale de ski et de snowboard'' (FIS; en, International Ski and Snowboard Federation) is the highest international governing body for skiing and snowboarding. Founded on 2 February 1924 in Chamonix, France during the inaugural Winter Olympic Games, the FIS is responsible for the Olympic disciplines of Alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, ski jumping, Nordic combined, freestyle skiing, and snowboarding. Emil Iversen (born 12 August 1991) is a Norwegian Cross-country skiing (sport), cross-country skier who represents IL Varden. He is 2019 World Champion in team sprint and 4 × 10 km relay. Athletic career ;2010/11 Iversen was junior world champion in the relay in 2011 with Sindre Bjørnestad Skar, Mathias Rundgreen and Erik Bergfall Brovold. Alexander Alexandrovich Bolshunov (russian: Александр Александрович Большунов, also '' tr.'' Aleksandr Aleksandrovich Bolshunov; born 31 December 1996) is a Russian cross-country skier and two-time winner of the 14th and 15th Tour de Ski. Frida Karlsson
Frida Karlsson (born 10 August 1999) is a Swedish cross-country skier. She won a silver medal in the women's 10 kilometres classical, bronze medal in the women's 30 kilometre freestyle mass start, and gold as a member of the women's 4 × 5 kilometre relay during the 2019 FIS World Championships in Seefeld in Tirol, Austria. With this win, she became the youngest cross-country skiing World Cup gold medalist in history. In April 2018, she received a 50,000 Swedish kronor prize for promising new skiers from former skier Johan Olsson and a bank. The award also gave her the opportunity to use Olsson as a mentor. Federico Pellegrino (born 1 September 1990) is an Italian cross-country skier. Pellegrino is a world champion and Olympic silver medalist in cross-country skiing. In the 2015/2016 season, he won the sprint cup. Pellegrino is an athlete of the G.S. Fiamme Oro. Biography Originally from Nus, Pellegrino made his World Cup debut in the 2009–10 season. Sjur Røthe (born 2 July 1988) is a Norwegian cross-country skier. He is a three-time World champion. Career He made his World Cup debut in March 2009 in Trondheim, but did not finish the race, and collected his first World Cup points in November 2009 in Beitostølen, with an eighteenth place.
