The FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 1984 for teams in Ski jumping and Nordic combined took place in Engelberg, Switzerland and Rovaniemi, Finland. These were extraordinary events because both were not held at the 1984 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo. Alexander Majorov
Alexander Alexandrovich Majorov (russian: Александр Александрович Майоров, born 19 July 1991) is a Swedish retired figure skater. He is the 2017 Winter Universiade bronze medalist, the 2011 World Junior bronze medalist, a five-time Nordic champion (2011–14 and 2016), and a four-time Swedish national champion (2012–14, 2017). His best finish at the European Championships is 6th (2013). He was 14th at the 2014 Winter Olympics. Personal life Majorov was born on 19 July 1991 in Saint Petersburg, Russia. When he was an infant, his family began spending half a year in Sweden and half in Russia, settling in Luleå when he was six years old. Vladimír Podzimek (12 May 1965 – 17 May 1994) was a Czechoslovakian ski jumper. Career He earned a bronze medal in the Team large hill event at the 1984 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Engelberg. Jens Weißflog (, ; born 21 July 1964) is a German former ski jumper. He is one of the best and most successful ski jumpers in the history of the sport. Only Finns Matti Nykänen and Janne Ahonen, Poles Adam Małysz and Kamil Stoch and Austrian Gregor Schlierenzauer have won more World Cup victories. Career Weißflog was born in Erlabrunn (now a part of Breitenbrunn, Saxony) in the Erzgebirge range. As a 19-year-old he won the Four Hills Tournament for East Germany in 1983/84. Jari Puikkonen
Jari Markus Puikkonen (born 25 June 1959) is a Finnish former ski jumper. Career Puikkonen made his debut internationally in the Four Hills Tournament competition in Oberstdorf on 30 December 1977. He won his first World Cup victory at Innsbruck in 1981.
