FIS Freestyle World Ski Championships 2017
The 2017 FIS Freestyle Ski and Snowboarding World Championships were held in Sierra Nevada, Spain, from March 6–19, 2017. Snowboard cross team events for men and women were introduced to the championships schedule for the first time, bringing the total number of events contested to 26. Sierra Nevada (Spain)
Sierra Nevada (; meaning "mountain range covered in snow") is a mountain range in the Andalusian province of Granada in Spain. It contains the highest point of continental Spain:The highest peak in Spanish territory is Teide on the island of Tenerife in the Canary Islands, which is politically Spanish but geographically part of Africa. Augustus Richard "Gus" Kenworthy (born October 1, 1991) is a British-American former freestyle skier, actor, and YouTuber. He competed in slopestyle, halfpipe and big air. Danielle Scott (born 7 March 1990) is an Australian freestyle skier specialising in Aerial Skiing. Scott represented Australia at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games. She won a bronze medal at the 2013 FIS Freestyle World Ski Championships. Ashley Caldwell
Ashley Caldwell (born September 14, 1993) is an American freestyle skier who has competed in aerials since 2008. Caldwell was named to the US team for the 2010 Winter Olympics in January 2010 after competing in the sport for only two seasons. The youngest in the event, she reached the finals of the Aerials. Caldwell won her first World Cup aerials event in the United States in Lake Placid, New York in January 2011, becoming the youngest freestyle female ever to win. Caldwell then suffered back-to-back ACL tears, missing the 2012 and 2013 competitive seasons. Britteny Cox (born 29 September 1994) is an Australian mogul skier. Growing up in the Victorian alpine resort of Falls Creek, Cox was born into a mogul skiing environment, with her family passionate mogul skiers.
