Planai
Planai is a ski area in central Austria, the main mountain in the Schladming area in Styria. It is one of four adjoining mountains, which includes Hauser Kaibling, Hochwurzen and Reiteralm, connected under the name Schladminger 4-Berge-Schaukel. It is not regarded as a single mountain and all text from the official website cites the total amount of pistes. Planai was the host venue of the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in 2013, held in early February. Schladming previously hosted alpine skiing's major biennial event in 1982, with the men's events at Planai and the women's at Haus im Ennstal. In preparation for the World Championships in 2013, Planai hosted the World Cup finals in March 2012. Ana Drev
Ana Drev (born 6 August 1985) is a Slovenian World Cup alpine ski racer. She specializes in the giant slalom and started her first European Cup race at age 15 on February 24, 2001, in Rogla, Slovenia. Drev made her World Cup debut in October 2001 at age 16. She debuted at the Winter Olympic Games in 2006, at age 20, finishing 9th in giant slalom. In season 2016 she finished as seventh in giant slalom ranking, achieving two podiums in World Cup, the first of her career. Ranked among the greatest Slovenian giant slalom skiers, Drev's career was plagued by health problems and instability in her national team, which didn't allow her to live up to her potentiality. She retired in February 2020, after suffering an injury in December 2018. Elisabeth Görgl
Elisabeth Görgl (born 20 February 1981) is a retired World Cup alpine ski racer from Austria. Born in Bruck an der Mur, Styria, Görgl made her World Cup debut in March 2000 and has reached World Cup podiums in all five alpine disciplines, with multiple victories in giant slalom, Super-G, and downhill. In January 2008, she won her first World Cup race in the giant slalom at Maribor, Slovenia. At the 2009 World Championships at Val d'Isère, Görgl won a bronze medal in super combined. In 2011 at Garmisch-Partenkirchen, she won two gold medals, the first in the Super-G and a second in the downhill five days later. Julia Mancuso
Marie Mancuso (born March 9, 1984) is a retired American World Cup alpine ski racer, Olympic gold medalist and podcast host. She won the giant slalom at the 2006 Winter Olympics, and was the silver medalist in both downhill and combined in 2010, and the bronze medalist in the combined in 2014. She has also won five medals (two silver and three bronze) at the World Championships and seven races in regular World Cup competition. Her four Olympic medals are the most ever for a female American alpine skier. Racing career Mancuso made her World Cup debut at the age of 15 at Copper Mountain, Colorado, on November 20, 1999. She was scouted by Patrick Rooney. Mancuso scored her first World Cup points (top-30 finish) during the 2001 season. Ragnhild Mowinckel
Ragnhild Mowinckel (born 12 September 1992) is a Norwegian World Cup alpine ski racer, representing the club SK Rival. Career Born in Molde, Møre og Romsdal, Mowinckel won the gold medal at the Junior World Championships in 2012 in the giant slalom and super combined as well as bronze in super-G. Earlier that season in January, she made her World Cup debut in a slalom race at Zagreb. Mowinckel collected her first World Cup points with a 25th place in giant slalom in Schladming in March. At St. Moritz in December 2012, she improved to 16th place in the super combined and 19th in the super-G. Anne-Sophie Barthet (born 23 February 1988) is a French World Cup alpine ski racer and soldier. She competed for France at four Winter Olympics and five World Championships. Maria Helena Pietilä-Holmner (born 25 July 1986) is a retired Swedish World Cup alpine ski racer. She specialised in the technical events of slalom and giant slalom. Born in Umeå, Pietilä-Holmner took up alpine skiing at the age of seven. She was also a keen footballer, playing as a forward for Mariehem's girls' teams until the age of 15, when she decided to focus on skiing. Pietilä-Holmner made her World Cup debut in Sölden at age 16 in October 2002. She won a gold medal at the 2006 World Junior Alpine Skiing Championships in the slalom. Tanja Tuulia Poutiainen (born 6 April 1980) is a retired World Cup alpine ski racer from Finland. She specialized in the technical events of slalom and giant slalom, and was the silver medalist in the women's giant slalom at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Torino. Irene Curtoni (born 11 August 1985) is an Italian former World Cup alpine ski racer. She was specialised in the technical events of giant slalom and slalom. Born in Échirolles, Isère, France, where her father was a ski instructor, Curtoni was raised in the province of Sondrio in Lombardy, Italy. Whilst growing up, she also competed in basketball, gymnastics and swimming before settling on skiing. She made her World Cup debut in December 2007, and her best result is a third place in giant slalom in March 2012 in Ofterschwang, Germany. Through December 2020, Curtoni has two World Cup podiums and 32 top ten finishes; she has represented Italy in five World Championships and the 2018 Winter Olympics, where she was tenth in the slalom and part of the Italian squad which finished fifth in the team event.
