The FDH Bank Knockout Cup, also known as the Malawi FAM Cup is the national association football cup competition in Malawi, on a knock-out-basis. 383 teams participated in the 2009 edition of the Standard bank FAM Cup. It was the third time that Standard bank was the sponsor of the tournament. Ekwendeni Hammers
Ekwendeni is a town in the Northern Region of Malawi. It lies about from Mzuzu, in the Mzimba district. In 1889 Walter Angus Elmslie opened a mission station at eKwendeni. It has one of the oldest churches in Malawi belonging to the Church of Central Africa Presbyterian (CCAP), the local equivalent of the Church of Scotland. The general hospital began in the 1890s as a ministry of the Free Church of Scotland. Ekwendeni Hospital is operated by the Church of Central Africa Presbyterian – Synod of Livingstonia, in partnership with the Presbyterian Church (USA), the Church of Scotland and the Presbyterian Church of Ireland. Bingu National Stadium
Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe is the national stadium of Malawi. It is used for football matches and also has an athletics track. It hosts the home games of the Malawi national football team. It holds 41,100 people. It is named after former Malawian president Bingu wa Mutharika. This stadium became Ethiopian Football Federation home arena. This follows Ethiopian Football Federation request to CAF to use BNS as their national stadium is banned to host international matches for lacking minimum requirements as per the CAF Club Licensing criteria. Kamuzu Barracks Football Club are a Malawian football (soccer) club based in Lilongwe and currently playing in the TNM Super League, the top division of Malawian football. History Kamuzu Barracks has won the Malawi Carlsberg Cup in 2013 after defeating Moyale Barracks FC in the final at the Mzuzu Stadium. Blue Eagles Football Club is a Malawian football (soccer) club based in Lilongwe that currently plays in the TNM Super League, the top division of Malawian football. History Blue Eagles FC was founded in 1988 and is sponsored by the Malawi Police Service as tool to bring interaction between the community they serve and them.
