Steffen Wöller
Steffen Wöller (born 10 September 1972 in Erfurt, Thuringia) is a German luger who competed from 1991 to 2004. He won five medals at the FIL World Luge Championships with one gold (Mixed team: 2000), three silvers (Men's doubles: 2000, 2001; Mixed team: 2001), and one bronze (Men's doubles: 1997). Wöller also won six medals at the FIL European Luge Championships with three golds (Mixed team: 2002, 2004, 2006) and three silvers (Men's doubles: 1998, 2000; Mixed team: 2000). He won the overall Luge World Cup title in men's doubles in 2000–1. The FIL World Luge Championships, part of the International Luge Federation (FIL) have taken place on an almost annual basis in non-Winter Olympics years since 1955. Markus Schiegl
Markus Schiegl (born 6 July 1975 in Kufstein) is an Austrian former luger who has competed from 1987 to 2010. He won fourteen medals at the FIL World Luge Championships with five golds (Men's doubles: 1996, 1997; Mixed team: 1996,1997, 1999), five silvers (Men's doubles: 1999, 2003, 2007; Mixed team: 1993, 2008), and four bronzes (Men's doubles: 2001, 2008; Mixed team: 1995, 2000). Schiegl competes in doubles with his younger cousin Tobias. Schiegl also won eight medals at the FIL European Luge Championships with two silvers (Men's doubles: 2002; Mixed team: 1996) and six bronzes (Men's doubles: 1998, 2000, 2010; Mixed team: 1994, 1998, 2002). Competing in five Winter Olympics, his best finish in the men's doubles event was fourth twice (1998 and 2006). Schiegl's best overall Luge World Cup finish was second in men's doubles (199394, 199899). Since his retirement, Schiegl will concentrate on his career as a police officer. Competing in five Winter Olympics, his best finish in the men's doubles event was fourth twice (1998 and 2006). Markus Prock
Markus Prock (born 22 June 1964) is an Austrian luger who competed between 1983 and 2002. Born in Innsbruck, Prock competed in six Winter Olympics winning three medals in the men's singles event with two silvers ( 1992, 1994) and one bronze ( 2002). Prock grew up in the village of Mieders in the Stubaital. His parents managed a petrol station and a pension. He competed in several sports in his youth, ski racing, playing football and sprinting, achieving personal bests of 22.8s for the 200m and 50.9s for the 400m whilst in high school. He took up luge after racing in a competition for teenagers held at Igls. Prock was known for his rivalry with Georg Hackl, with Prock being dominant in World Cup competition whilst Hackl consistently achieved success at the Winter Olympics. Silke Kraushaar-Pielach (born Silke Kraushaar on 10 October 1970 in Sonneberg, Thuringia) is a German luger who competed from 1995 to 2008. Mark Grimmette (born January 23, 1971) is an American luger who competed from 1990 to 2010. Competing in five Winter Olympics, he won two medals in the men's doubles event with a silver in 2002 and a bronze in 1998. He was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Steffen Sartor (née Skel, born 14 June 1972, in Bad Salzungen, Bezirk Suhl) is a German luger who competed from 1992 to 2004. He was a doubles specialised who formed a successful partnership with Steffen Wöller during the 1990s and early 2000.
