FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Qualification (OFC)
The OFC Beach Soccer Nations Cup is the main championship for beach soccer in Oceania, contested between the senior men's national teams of the members of the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC). It is the sport's version of the better known OFC Nations Cup in association football. The winners of the championship are crowned continental champions; the tournament also acts as the qualification route for Oceanian nations to the upcoming edition of the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup and is therefore also known as the ''FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup OFC qualifier''. Coinciding with the annual staging of the World Cup, the competition took place yearly until 2009; the World Cup then became biennial, and as its supplementary qualification event, the championship followed suit. 2023 OFC Beach Soccer Nations Cup
The 2023 OFC Beach Soccer Nations Cup was the seventh edition of the OFC Beach Soccer Nations Cup, the top beach soccer competition contested by Oceanian men's national beach soccer teams. The tournament was organized by the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC). The tournament was originally scheduled to take place in June, but was subsequently pushed back to take place from 22 to 26 August 2023 in Tahiti. The tournament doubled as qualifiers for the 2023 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in the United Arab Emirates; the champions qualified. 2007 OFC Beach Soccer Championship
The 2007 OFC Beach Soccer championship also known as the 2007 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup qualifiers for (OFC) was the second beach soccer championship for Oceania, held from late August to early September, in North Shore, Auckland, New Zealand. The Solomon Islands won the championship and moved on to play in the 2007 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from 2 to 11 November. BSWW World Rankings
The BSWW World Ranking is a ranking system for men's national teams in beach soccer, calculated by the sport's developmental body, Beach Soccer Worldwide (BSWW). The rankings are currently led by Russia who have held the number one spot since August 2021. The teams (both member nations of FIFA – the sport's governing body – and non-members) are ranked using a "points-per-event system", whereby the ranking of the team in the final standings of each event they participate in awards that team a certain number of points; the teams that accumulate the most points are ranked highest. The rankings were introduced in February 2014 and are updated monthly; three teams (Russia, Portugal and Brazil) have held the top position, of which Brazil have spent the longest ranked first. 2021 OFC Beach Soccer Nations Cup
The 2021 OFC Beach Soccer Nations Cup was originally to be the seventh edition of the OFC Beach Soccer Nations Cup (previously called the ''OFC Beach Soccer Championship'' prior to 2019), the premier beach soccer tournament contested by Oceanian men's national teams, organised by the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC). The tournament would originally take place in Aorai Tini Hau, Papeete, Tahiti. It was originally scheduled to be played between 11–16 January 2021, and it was expected that at least eight teams would participate. However, the OFC announced on 5 November 2020 that the tournament had been rescheduled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and would take place no later than 6 June 2021, and was provisionally scheduled between 10–15 May 2021. On 4 March 2021, the OFC announced that a new date would be confirmed following consultation with FIFA. 2019 OFC Beach Soccer Nations Cup
The 2019 OFC Beach Soccer Nations Cup was the sixth edition of the OFC Beach Soccer Nations Cup (previously called the OFC Beach Soccer Championship), the premier beach soccer tournament contested by Oceanian men's national teams, organised by the Oceania Football Confederation (OFC). The competition returns after a six-year absence. The tournament took place in Aorai Tini Hau, Papeete, Tahiti from 17 to 22 June 2019. It was originally scheduled to take place from 15 to 22 September 2018 in Pā'ōfa'i Gardens. However, in August 2018, it was announced that the tournament had been postponed until June 2019 in order to allow more teams to participate. 2013 OFC Beach Soccer Championship
The 2013 OFC Beach Soccer Championship took place from 31 August to 2 September 2013 on the grounds of the University of New Caledonia in Nouméa, New Caledonia. It acted as a qualifier for the 2013 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup. This time around, a second OFC team qualified alongside Tahiti for the World Cup, due to the facts that Tahiti is the host of the World Cup and that the OFC is only supposed to have one representative. 2011 OFC Beach Soccer Championship
The 2011 OFC Beach Soccer Championship took place from 23 February to 26 February 2011, in Papeete, Tahiti, It acted as a qualifier for the 2011 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup. This was the third time the island had hosted the competition, following the 2006 and 2009 tournaments in Moorea. Only the winners of the tournament, Tahiti, qualified to play in the 2011 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup. The Solomon Islands were the favorites, having won the last 3 other qualifying championships in 2006, 2007 and 2009, but surprisingly lost in the final to Tahiti, despite beating them in the group stage. This means for the first time since 2005, the Solomon Islands will not be representing Oceania at the world cup.
