FIBA EuroBasket 2011 Group A
Group A of the EuroBasket 2011 took place between 31 August and 5 September 2011. The group played all of its games at Cido Arena in Panevėžys, Lithuania. The group was composed of Poland, Great Britain, Turkey, host Lithuania, defending champions Spain and Portugal, who qualified from additional qualifying round. EuroBasket 2011
EuroBasket 2011 was the 37th men's EuroBasket, European Basketball Championship, held by FIBA Europe. The competition was hosted by Lithuania. This was the second time EuroBasket had been held in Lithuania, the country having also hosted the EuroBasket 1939, 1939 championship. FIBA Europe asserted that Lithuania managed to organize the best European championship in its history. Ersan İlyasova (born 15 May 1987) is a Turkish professional basketball player who last played for the Utah Jazz of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Ender Arslan (born 13 January 1983) is a Turkish professional basketball coach and former player who played at the point guard position. He is assistant coach for Bahçeşehir Koleji of the Turkish Basketbol Süper Ligi (BSL). Ömer Faruk Aşık (; born July 4, 1986) is a Turkish former professional basketball player who last played for the Chicago Bulls of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Aşık, standing at 7'2", was sought after by many of the top Euroleague basketball teams at the age of 19. Aşık got his first chance playing professionally with the Turkish Basketball League team Fenerbahçe in 2005–06. Luol Ajou Deng (born 16 April 1985) is a British former professional basketball player. He was a two-time NBA All-Star and was named to the NBA All-Defensive Second Team in 2012. Born in what is now South Sudan, Deng fled the country with his family as a child, eventually settling in the United Kingdom. Mantas Kalnietis (born 6 September 1986) is a Lithuanian former professional basketball player who last played for BC Žalgiris, Žalgiris Kaunas of the Lietuvos krepšinio lyga, Lithuanian Basketball League (LKL) and the EuroLeague.
