FIBA Awards
FIBA Awards are basketball awards that are given at the end of each FIBA tournament, or that are given in recognition of an individual's contributions to the sport. There are several awards that are attributed to the players, which have distinguished themselves from the rest, in different aspects of the game. FIBA tournament awards The FIBA tournament awards are awarded at the FIBA World Cup and the FIBA Women's World Cup, as well as at each of the FIBA continental cups, at both the senior and youth levels. *The Most Valuable Player (the most valuable player within the tournament). *The All-Tournament Team (five players who distinguished themselves within the tournament, also commonly referred to as the ''All-Star Five''). FIBA
The International Basketball Federation (FIBA ; French: ) is an association of national organizations which governs the sport of basketball worldwide. Originally known as the (hence FIBA), in 1989 it dropped the word ''amateur'' from its name but retained the acronym. FIBA defines the rules of basketball, specifies the equipment and facilities required, organises international competitions, regulates the transfer of athletes across countries, and controls the appointment of international referees. A total of 213 national federations are now members, organized since 1989 into five zones: Africa, Americas, Asia, Europe, and Oceania. FIBA organizes both the men's and women's FIBA World Olympic Qualifying Tournament and the Summer Olympics Basketball Tournament, which are sanctioned by the IOC. Han Xu (basketball)
Han Xu (; born 31 October 1999) is a Chinese basketball player for the New York Liberty of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). Han was drafted in the second round (14th overall) by the Liberty in the 2019 WNBA Draft. She has represented China at the 2016 FIBA Under-17 World Championship for Women, the 2017 FIBA Under-19 Women's Basketball World Cup and the 2018 FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup and 2022 FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup. WNBA Han was drafted by the New York Liberty 14th overall in the 2019 WNBA draft. She was the youngest player in her draft class. Breanna Stewart
Breanna Mackenzie Stewart (born Baldwin; born August 27, 1994) is an American professional basketball player for the Seattle Storm of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). In high school, Stewart was the National Gatorade Player of the Year, the Gatorade Female Athlete of the Year, and a McDonald's All-American. Marc Gasol
Marc Gasol Sáez (, ; born January 29, 1985) is a Spanish professional basketball player for Bàsquet Girona of the Liga ACB. The center is a two-time All-NBA Team member and a three-time NBA All-Star. He was named the NBA Defensive Player of the Year with the Memphis Grizzlies in 2013, and won an NBA championship with the Toronto Raptors in 2019. Gasol was drafted 48th overall by the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2007 NBA draft. Evan Mehdi Fournier (; born 29 October 1992) is a French professional basketball player for the New York Knicks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Bogdan Bogdanović ( sr-cyr, Богдан Богдановић; born 18 August 1992) is a Serbian professional basketball player for the Atlanta Hawks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). 2022 FIBA Under-17 Women's Basketball World Cup
The 2022 FIBA Under-17 Women's Basketball World Cup was an international basketball competition held in Debrecen, Hungary from 9 to 17 July 2022. It is the seventh edition of the FIBA Under-17 Women's Basketball World Cup. Sixteen national teams competed in the tournament. The United States captured their fifth title after a finals win over Spain, while France defeated Canada to grab the bronze medal.
