FIA WTCC Race Of Argentina
The FIA WTCC Race of Argentina is a round of the World Touring Car Championship, which was held for the first time in the 2013 World Touring Car Championship season at the Autódromo Termas de Río Hondo in Termas de Río Hondo, Argentina. An Argentinean race was originally scheduled to take place in 2011 at a circuit in Buenos Aires. The planned event was later cancelled after problems homologating the track for international use. Argentina was added to the provisional 2012 schedule although no circuit was mentioned which would host the event. In January 2012 the event from dropped from the calendar owing to delays agreeing details with the local government, it was later replaced by the FIA WTCC Race of Slovakia. The calendar for the 2013 season was amended in March 2013 with the FIA WTCC Race of Brazil replaced by two TBA rounds, one of which was a placeholder date for an Argentinean round. Autódromo Termas De Río Hondo
Autódromo Termas de Río Hondo is a motorsport circuit located in Termas de Río Hondo, Argentina. The circuit was opened in 2008 and underwent a complete overhaul and rebuild process in 2012, based on design by the Italian circuit designer . Racing background The circuit hosted the third round of the Grand Prix motorcycle racing season in 2014 and 2015, bringing Grand Prix motorcycle racing back to Argentina after fifteen years. In 2013, the circuit also hosted Rounds 15 and 16 of the FIA WTCC Race of Argentina of the World Touring Car Championship, and the first MotoGP and Moto2 official tests. FIA WTCC Race Of Brazil
The FIA WTCC Race of Brazil was a round of the World Touring Car Championship, it was held at the Autódromo Internacional de Curitiba near the city of Curitiba in the Brazilian state of Paraná. The race was run every year between 2006 and 2012. It was the fifth round of the 2006 season, running in July, although it was then run in March as the opening round of the season every year since 2007. The race was sponsored by HSBC from 2006 until 2010. The 2011 Race of Brazil had originally been scheduled to be held at the Autódromo José Carlos Pace in São Paulo but reverted to Curitiba a month before the event owing to renovation works being carried out at the Interlagos circuit. Yvan Muller (born 16 August 1969 in Altkirch, Haut-Rhin) is a French auto racing driver most noted for success in touring car racing. He is a four-time World Touring Car Champion, winning the title in 2008 with SEAT, in 2010 and 2011 with Chevrolet and in 2013 with RML. He was British Touring Car Champion in 2003 with Vauxhall. The 2014 FIA World Touring Car Championship was a motor racing competition organised by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) for Super 2000 Cars. It was the eleventh FIA World Touring Car Championship, and the tenth since the series was revived in 2005. After making a race-winning début on home soil during the 2013 campaign, Argentina's José María López won the drivers' championship after performing strongest during the season. Sébastien Loeb (; born 26 February 1974) is a French professional rally, racing and rallycross driver. He is the most successful driver in the World Rally Championship (WRC), having won the world championship a record nine times in a row. The 2015 World Touring Car Championship was a motor racing competition organised by the FIA for Super 2000 cars. It was the twelfth FIA World Touring Car Championship, and the eleventh since the series was revived in 2005. Thomas James Chilton (born 15 March 1985) is a British racing driver. He has spent most of his career competing in touring car racing; he was a former factory Vauxhall and Honda driver in the British Touring Car Championship, and currently drives for Ciceley Motorsport in the British Touring Car Championship. The 2016 World Touring Car Championship was the thirteenth season of the FIA World Touring Car Championship, and the twelfth since the series was revived in 2005. In 2016 a new manufacturer Polestar (with Volvo S60) entered while Citroën reduced the number of official entries to two, and announced their retirement in 2017.
