FC Vysočina Jihlava is a football club from Jihlava, Czech Republic, which currently plays in the Czech National Football League, after relegated from the Czech First League, the top football competition in the Czech Republic in 2017–18 season. Jihlava played in the top flight for the first time in its history in the 2005–06 season. The club has taken part in the Czech 2. Liga more than 10 times and has also played in the Czech First League. History The club was founded under the name PAL Jihlava in 1948. After the Czech Republic became independent in 1993, the club played in the third-tier Bohemian Football League until promotion in 2000 to the Czech 2. Liga. Karel Večeřa (born 9 October 1955 in Ivančice) is a Czech football manager and former player. In the 2006–09 season he led FC Baník Ostrava. He was very popular and known for his bet with fans of FC Baník Ostrava. Fans said that if Baník ends in a third position in season 2007–08, allowing them to play UEFA Cup, and if he will shave his moustache, they will buy him 1922 bars of chocolate, as the football club was founded in 1922. Fans can saw him without his moustache, which he had for 34 years, as Baník ended in a third position that year. As active player, Večeřa played for several clubs, including FC Zbrojovka Brno and VP Frýdek-Místek. As a manager, he coached among others FK Drnovice, 1. Jaroslav Netolička
Jaroslav Netolička (born 3 March 1954, in Opava) is a Czech football goalkeeper. He obtained a total number of fifteen caps for Czechoslovakia national football team, in which he conceded ten goals. Netolička began his playing career with Dukla Prague and TJ Vítkovice. He was a participant in the 1980 Olympic Games, where Czechoslovakia won the gold medal, and in the 1980 UEFA European Championship, where Czechoslovakia won the bronze medal. Roman Pivarník (born 17 February 1967) is a Slovakian football manager and former player. Pivarník's playing career included a stint at SK Sigma Olomouc, which included matches in the inaugural season of the Czech First League. Miloslav Machálek (born 20 July 1961) is a Czech professional football manager who last managed Czech First League club Zbrojovka Brno. Early life and career Machálek grew up in Slovácko region village of Slavkov, where he began his career in youth categories. From the age of 18 he often suffered from knee and cruciate ligament injuries that limited him in his career. After returning from the military service he played together with his brother in the Staré Město, Vyškov and in lower Austrian competitions. He ended his career in his home club.
