FC Start Chuhuiv, is a football team based in Chuhuiv, Ukraine. History The club appeared sometime in 1954 and in the short period of time became the most titled football team in Kharkiv Oblast winning its regional championship 9 times. Later the record was superseded only by two other clubs both from Kupyansk Kupiansk ( uk, Куп'янськ, ) is a city in Kharkiv Oblast, Ukraine. It serves as the administrative center of Kupiansk Raion. It is also an important railroad junction for the oblast. Kupiansk hosts the administrative offices of Kupiansk Ur ..., Metalurh and Lokomotyv. In 1960s Start Chuhuiv was among the most successful teams in Ukraine that did not carry the status of a "team of masters" when the team won Ukrainian and Soviet cup competitions among KFK teams. Chuhuiv ( uk, Чугуїв) or Chuguev (russian: Чугуев) is a city in Kharkiv Oblast, Ukraine. The city is the administrative center of Chuhuiv Raion (district). It hosts the administration of Chuhuiv urban hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. Chuhuiv's food industry focuses on producing mayonnaise along with other staple supporting condiments. History The City's founding date is disputed with historical assertions ranging from 1540 to 1627. Some academics believe that the city was built upon the orders Russia's first Tsar Ivan the Terrible who reigned from 1547 to 1584. A military fort was built adjacent to the city in 1638 by Ukrainian Cossacks of Yakiv Ostryanyn (see Ostryanyn uprising) on the order of Muscovite Tsar Mikhail Fedorovich. A military presence of some form near Chuhuiv has remained ever since. The Chuguev uprising of 1819 was a revolt of military settlers. Kupiansk ( uk, Куп'янськ, ) is a city in Kharkiv Oblast, Ukraine. It serves as the administrative center of Kupiansk Raion. It is also an important railroad junction for the oblast. The Ukrainian Amateur Cup ( uk, Кубок України з футболу серед аматорських команд) or AAFU Cup ( uk, Кубок ААФУ) is a national cup competition in Ukraine for amateur clubs. The nationwide competition among amateur teams in cup format (Olympic system) was revived in the 1996–97 season and since 2008 the winner receives the right to progress to the Ukrainian Cup which serves professional clubs.
