FC St-Léonard
FC Saint-Léonard was a Canadian semi-professional soccer club based in Saint-Leonard, Quebec that played two seasons in the Première Ligue de soccer du Québec. History The club was originally formed in 1978. Prior to joining the PLSQ, the club played in the Ligue de Soccer Elite Quebec, which is the top amateur division in Quebec. In 2012, the semi-professional club was established to play in the newly formed Première Ligue de soccer du Québec, a Division III league, as one of the founding members. They won the inaugural PLSQ championship, coming in first place out of the five teams. In 2013, they played an exhibition match against the Haiti national football team. The club did not return for the 2014 PLSQ season, due to the high financial costs associated with operating a team. The Première ligue de soccer du Québec (PLSQ) is a semi-professional soccer league created in 2012. The Quebec Soccer Federation operates both men's and women's divisions at the pro-am tier of the Canadian soccer league system. Massimo Di Ioia (born June 18, 1987 in Saint-Leonard, Quebec, Saint-Léonard, Quebec) is a Canadian former soccer player. Di Ioia was part of the Canadian National Under 20 team and Olympic Under 23 team. He played the majority of his career in the Canadian province of Quebec with notable stints in the Ligue de Soccer Elite Quebec, USL First Division, Canadian Soccer League, and the Première Ligue de soccer du Québec. Rocco Placentino (born 25 February 1982) is a Canadian retired international soccer player. He is currently the technical director of Canadian club CS Saint-Laurent. Career Club Born in Montreal, Quebec, Placentino spent most of his early career in the Italian lower leagues, representing Avellino, Teramo, Cavese, Gualdo, Massese and Gubbio. Pierre-Rudolph Mayard (born February 21, 1988), commonly known as Papouche, is a Canadian soccer player who plays as a forward for AS Blainville in the Première Ligue de soccer du Québec. Gabard Fénélon (born 3 June 1981) is a Haitian footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Canadian club CS Mont-Royal Outremont. Early years Fénelon was born in Tortuga (Île de la Tortue), a small Haitian island in the northwest of the country. The 2013 PLSQ season was the second season of existence for the Première ligue de soccer du Québec, a Division 3 men's semi-professional soccer league and the highest level of soccer fully contained within the province of Québec.
