FC Rukh Lviv ( ua, ФК «Рух» Львів) is a Ukrainian professional football club based in Lviv. The club competes in the Ukrainian Premier League following the promotion as runners-up of 2019–20 Ukrainian First League. History In 2003 under the initiative Myron Markevych, who was born in Vynnyky, and at the time was head coach of FC Karpaty Lviv established football club called FC Rukh Vynnyky. When asked why ''Rukh'', Markevych replied that ''Rukh'' is life. In June 2003, a children's football school Myron Markevych "Movement" under directorship Yuriy Hdanskyi and trainers Roman Hdanskyi, Ihor Didyk, Markiyan Shkraba, Oleh Lehan was formed. Arena Lviv ( uk, Арена Львів) is a football stadium in Lviv, Ukraine. It was one of the eight UEFA Euro 2012 venues, where it hosted three of the group-stage games. Valerii Yuriyovych Fedorchuk ( ua, Валерій Юрійович Федорчук; born 5 October 1988) is a Ukrainian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Rukh Lviv. Oleh Veremiyenko ( uk, Олег Костянтинович Веремієнко; born 13 February 1999) is a professional Ukrainian football defender who plays for Rukh Lviv. Career Veremiyenko is a product of the UFC Lviv School Sportive System. He was promoted to the main-squad of FC Karpaty Lviv, but never made his debut in the Ukrainian Premier League and played for reserves. Lviv Oblast Football Federation (LOFF) is a football governing body in the region of Lviv Oblast, Ukraine. The federation is a member of the Regional Council of FFU and the collective member of the FFU itself. History The Ukrainian sports movement arose in West Ukraine / East Galicia just before the World War I on initiative of professor Ivan Bobersky around 1906. After the war in the recovered Poland, those competitions were conducted under auspices of the Ukrainian Sports Union (Ukrajinskyj Sojuz Sportowyj). Ukrainian Amateur Football Championship ( uk, Чемпіонат України з футболу серед аматорів) is an annual association football competition in Ukraine among amateur teams. The competition is administered by the Ukrainian Association of Amateur Football (AAFU). The championship replaced the Soviet competitions among collectives of physical culture (KFK). The Persha Liha ( uk, Перша ліга) or Ukrainian First League is a professional football league in Ukraine and the second tier of national football competitions pyramid. Members of the league also participate in the Ukrainian Cup. It is the highest division of Professional Football League. The 2016–17 Ukrainian Second League is the 26th season of 3rd level professional football in Ukraine. The competition commenced on 23 July 2016 with one match from Round 1. The spring session started on 18 March 2017 with the competition ending on 2 June 2017. The fixtures were announced on 16 July 2016.
