FC Progresul București
Fotbal Club Progresul București, commonly known as Progresul București or simply as Progresul, was a Romanian Association football, football club based in Bucharest. The team was founded in 1944 as ''B.N.R. București'', being the team of the National Bank of Romania (B.N.R.). In 1947 B.N.R. has promoted to Liga II, Divizia B, then after only seven years made its debut in the Liga I, Divizia A, this time under the name of ''Progresul Finanțe Bănci București''. The road of Progresul through Romanian football has been marked with ups and downs, in total spending no less than 32 seasons in the top flight, being ranked 15th in the Liga I#All-time table, Liga I All-Time Table. Stadionul Cotroceni
Cotroceni Stadium is a football stadium in Bucharest, Romania. It holds 14,542 people. The venue was the home ground of Progresul București. The stadium was built in 1995, being the first stadium built, after the fall of Communism in Romania in 1989. It was the host for the Romanian Cup Final in 2004 and 2005. Also an international rugby union match between France and Romania was played on June 17, 2006, during the 2006 France rugby union tour. At this stadium performed Kylie Minogue, Enrique Iglesias, RBD, Deep Purple, Metallica and Iron Maiden. Fotbal Club Rapid 1923, commonly known as Rapid București () or simply as Rapid, is a Romanian professional football club based in Bucharest, which competes in the Liga I. It was founded in 1923 by employees of the Grivița workshops as ''Asociația Culturală și Sportivă CFR'' ("CFR Cultural and Sports Association"). Domestically, Rapid București is one of the most successful clubs in the country, having won three national titles, 13 Cupa României and four Supercupa României. Internationally, its highest achievements are reaching the quarter-finals of the 1972–73 Cup Winners' Cup and of the 2005–06 UEFA Cup, and the final of the 1940 Mitropa Cup, the latter not being played because of the Second World War. Recently, the club was declared bankrupt in 2016, but was refounded and managed to return to the top flight in 2021. Constantin Dinulescu
Constantin Dinulescu (19 April 1931 – 1 February 2017) was a Romanian football forward who played for Romania in the 1960 European Nations' Cup. After he ended his playing career he became a referee who arbitrated 113 Divizia A matches during the course of 12 seasons. He also arbitrated at international and European club level. Gheorghe Cacoveanu
Gheorghe Cornel Cacoveanu (16 September 1935 – 23 November 2001) was a Romanian footballer who played as an attacking midfielder, most notably for Steaua București. Career His debut for Metalul Câmpia Turzii came in 1951. He promoted in the Romanian first division with his team and played well in Divizia A. He moved to Bucharest in 1955 playing only a season for Progresul București before moving to Steaua București. He played nine years for this team, being a part of Steaua's Gold Team. Valeriu Soare (born 25 June 1932) is a Romanian former footballer, playing mainly as central forward. He had played for Progresul București. International career Valeriu Soare played five games at international level for Romania, making his debut on 28 June 1956 under coach Gheorghe Popescu I in a friendly which ended with a 2–0 victory against Norway. He also played three games at the 1960 European Nations' Cup qualifiers as Romania reached the quarter-finals where they were defeated by Czechoslovakia, who advanced to the final tournament. He also appeared twice for Romania's Olympic team at the 1960 Summer Olympics qualifiers. Fotbal Club Universitatea Cluj (), commonly known as Universitatea Cluj or simply as U Cluj, is a Romanian professional football club based in the city of Cluj-Napoca, Cluj County, that competes in the Liga I, the first tier of the Romanian league system. Nicolae Oaidă
Nicolae Oaidă (born 9 April 1933) is a Romanian former footballer and manager. Career Nicolae Oaidă was born in Bod, Brașov on 9 April 1933 and started playing football in 1946 at the youth center of Steagul Roșu Brașov, later in 1950 moving to Locomotiva Brașov. He made his Divizia A debut on 16 May 1954 playing for Dinamo Brașov in a 3–0 loss against Locomotiva Timișoara. After one season at Dinamo Brașov, Oaidă went to play for two seasons at Dinamo Bacău, managing to help the team earn a promotion to the first league in his first season spent there. In 1957 he went to play for Progresul București, a team where he would spend the rest of his career, playing for 12 seasons, including one in the second division, earning a total of 226 league appearances and 77 goals scored.
