FC Porto (handball)
Futebol Clube do Porto (), commonly referred to as FC Porto or simply Porto, is a Portuguese professional handball team based in Porto. Created in 1932, it is the senior representative side of the handball section of multi-sports club FC Porto. The team competes domestically in the top-tier league Andebol 1 and internationally in European Handball Federation club competitions, such as the EHF Champions League and the EHF Cup. It plays its home matches at the Dragão Arena, alongside the club's basketball and roller hockey teams, and is managed by Swedish head coach Magnus Andersson. History The section started in 1932 with a field handball (eleven-a-side) team, which played competitive matches until 1974–75, when it was discontinued in favour of seven-a-side handball. Futebol Clube do Porto, MHIH, OM (), commonly known as FC Porto or simply Porto, is a Portuguese professional sports club based in Porto. It is best known for the professional football team playing in the Primeira Liga, the top flight of Portuguese football. Founded on 28 September 1893, Porto is one of the " Big Three" (Portuguese: ''Os Três Grandes'') teams in Portugal – together with Lisbon-based rivals Benfica and Sporting CP, that have appeared in every season of the Primeira Liga since its establishment in 1934. They are nicknamed ''Dragões'' (Dragons), for the mythical creature atop the club's crest, and ''Azuis e brancos'' (Blue-and-whites), for the shirt colours. The 2013–14 VELUX EHF Champions League was the 54th edition of Europe's premier club handball tournament and the 21st edition under the current EHF Champions League format. HSV Hamburg was the defending champion. The VELUX EHF FINAL4 was played on 31 May–1 June at the Lanxess Arena in Cologne, Germany. Pedro José Valdés Manzo (born June 29, 1973) is a Puerto Rican former professional baseball outfielder. He played parts of three seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Chicago Cubs and Texas Rangers, four seasons in Nippon Professional Baseball for the Fukuoka Daiei Hawks, and one season in the Korea Baseball Organization for the LG Twins. During his MLB career, he was listed as 6'1" tall weighing 180 pounds.
