FC Petrolul Ploiești
Asociația Clubul Sportiv Petrolul 52, commonly known as Petrolul Ploiești () or simply as Petrolul, is a Romanian professional football club based in Ploiești, Prahova County, which competes in the Liga I. Founded in 1924 in capital Bucharest as ''Juventus'', following the merger of ''Triumf'' and ''Romcomit'', it won its first league championship in the 1929–30 season. In 1952 the team was relocated north to the city of Ploiești, and five years later settled on the name of Petrolul. Shortly after, it achieved three more national titles—in 1957–58, 1958–59 and 1965–66. Domestically, its honours also include three national cups, the latest in the 2012–13 campaign. Cupa României
The Cupa României ( en, Romanian Cup) is a football cup competition for Romanian teams which has been held annually since 1933–34, except during World War II. It is the country's main cup competition, being open to all clubs affiliated with the Romanian Football Federation (FRF) and the county football associations regardless of the league they belong to. Currently, the winner of the competition is granted a place in the UEFA Europa Conference League qualifiers and plays the Supercupa României. Most finals have been held at the Stadionul Național (formerly known as "23 August"), and occasionally at other stadiums in Bucharest. Stadionul Romcomit
Romcomit Stadium was a football stadium in Bucharest, standing on the site now occupied by the University of Bucharest's Law Department. History The stadium was inaugurated in 1923, being considered at the time a very modern one. It was the stadium of the team with the same name, founded by Ettore Brunelli, that in 1924 merged with ''Triumf'' and the result was Juventus București, the new tenant of the stadium. This was the pitch were the first floodlit matches were played in Romania. On 13 and 14 September 1933, Újpest Budapest played friendly matches against CFR București and Venus București. The floodlit installation, as Ioan Chirilă described it in one of his books, was rudimentary and was formed by bulbs pinned by several rows of ropes hanged over the pitch. So at high throws, the ball "got caught" into the dark or it damaged some of the bulbs and the game had to be stopped so that a worker could replace the damaged bulbs. The Former Ploiești derby ( ro, Fostul derbi al Ploieștiului) is the name given in football to any match between Romanian clubs Petrolul Ploiești and Astra Giurgiu. The two sides have won a combined eleven domestic titles, and as of 2021 Petrolul competes in the Liga I, while Astra plays in the Liga III. Asociația Fotbal Club Astra Giurgiu (), commonly known as Astra Giurgiu or simply Astra, was a Romanian football club based in the city of Giurgiu, Giurgiu County. Fotbal Club Rapid 1923, commonly known as Rapid București () or simply as Rapid, is a Romanian professional football club based in Bucharest, which competes in the Liga I. Liga IV is the fourth level of the Romanian football league system. Its name was changed from Divizia D into Liga IV before the start of play for the 2006–07 season. Current format Liga IV has 42 divisions. The divisions are regionalised and are organised by every county association. Each team plays in their own county. The county associations decide how many teams play in the league and how many matches each side plays. In Romania the most frequently used system is one division with matches played home and away. A number of associations prefer 2 or even 4 parallel divisions with the teams finishing first meeting in a play-off to decide the champion.
