FC Gornyak Uchaly (russian: ФК «Горняк» Учалы) is a Russian football club from Uchaly. History In 2006, playing at thregional level the team was the second in the Bashkortostan championship and won the Bashkortostan cup. In 2007 the team won Ural and West Siberia zonal tournament of the Russian Amateur Football League. In 2008–2013 (five seasons) they played in the Russian Second Division, Ural-Povolzhye zone (third level in the Russian league system). Uchaly (russian: Учалы; ba, Учалы) is a town in the Republic of Bashkortostan, Russia, in the east of the republic, in the southern Urals, among the lakes of the Uraltau Range. Population: Etymology In the Bashkir language, "Uchaly" ( ba, Үс алды) literally means "revenge". According to a legend, at the end of the 14th century in the place where the modern town now stands Timur fought the Golden Horde Khan Tokhtamysh and slaughtered the nomadic South Ural Bashkirs who were Tokhtamysh's supporters. Another theory postulates that the town is named for the nearby lakes: Bolshiye Uchaly and Malye Uchaly. Several theories exist about the origins of the lakes' names as well. Bashkir geologists believe that the name of the lakes comes from the word ''yushaly'', which, in turn, is derived from ''yusha''—a generic Bashkir name for the color range of the sand and clay deposits, which in the past were used to manufacture paint. Russian championship among amateur football clubs (III division) (russian: Первенство России среди любительских футбольных клубов (III дивизион)) is the fourth overall tier of the Russian football league system. Sometimes it is called Amateur Football League, after the organization that holds the competition (russian: Любительская Футбольная Лига). The league has amateur/semi-pro status. The Russian Second Division 2009 was the third strongest division in Russian football. The Second Division is geographically divided into 5 zones. South FC Abinsk were excluded from the league for failing to fulfil two fixtures (on 28 June and 5 July). They have played 14 matches and were in the 18th position with 5 points. The 2010–11 Russian Cup was the nineteenth season of the Russian football knockout tournament since the dissolution of the Soviet Union. The competition started on 14 April 2010, and ended with the Final on 22 May 2011 at Shinnik Stadium in Yaroslavl, won by CSKA Moscow 2–1 over Alania Vladikavkaz.
