Futball Club Dunaföldvár is a professional Hungarian football club based in the town of Dunaföldvár, in Tolna County. Founded in 1925, it currently plays in Nemzeti Bajnokság III – Southwest, holding home games at Dunaföldvári Sportpálya. History For the first time in seventeen years, Dunaföldvár won the Tolna Megyei Bajnokság I in the 2022–23 season. They earned promotion to the third tier, by defeating Semjénháza 10–2 on aggregate in the promotion play-offs. The team's 2023–24 season started with the final of previous year's Tolna County Cup where they prevailed against Bátaszék by seven goals. Nemzeti Bajnokság III (''NBIII'', ''National Championship III'') is the third tier of Hungarian football (from the autumn of 1997 till the spring of 2005, NB III was the fourth tier, the third was NB II). The tier contains 3 groups (west, center, east) of 16 teams. From each group, the champions are promoted to the NB II. The three lowest teams are relegated to the first tier of local divisions (''Megye I.''). From NB II, the three lowest teams are relegated to NB III. The 2022–23 Megyei Bajnokság I includes the championships of 20 counties in Hungary. It is the fourth tier of the Hungarian football league system. Bács-Kiskun Kiskunfélegyháza and Bácsalmás were the only team to acquire the NB III license for next season. Bácsalmás was ineligible based on league position and the champion declined the participation before the promotion play-offs for financial reasons. Dunaföldvár
Dunaföldvár is a town in Tolna County, Hungary. Residents are Hungarians, with minority of Serbs. A Bronze Age gold hoard of jewellery was found between Paks and Dunaföldvár on the banks of the Danube in the nineteenth century. The treasure is now in the collections of the British Museum. Dunaföldvár boasts a number of historical heritages, the most important of which, after the castle, are its churches and chapels. Dunaföldvár, on the bank of the Danube, was an important settlement at the time of the Hungarian conquest, and experienced its golden age during the 14th and 15th centuries. It was first mentioned in the work of the Turkish chronicler Sinan Chaus, who described the history of the 1543 expedition. However, the castle was destroyed in the autumn of 1686 after it was set ablaze by Turkish troops. The Hungarian Cup ( hu, Magyar Kupa) is the Hungarian cup competition for football clubs. It was started by the Hungarian Football Association, the ''Magyar Labdarúgó Szövetség,'' in 1909, eight years after the commencement of the Hungarian League ( hu, Nemzeti Bajnokság). Besides all of the professional clubs of Hungary numerous amateur sides take part every year. These have to qualify through local cup competitions. 2023–24 Magyar Kupa
The 2023–24 Magyar Kupa (English: ''Hungarian Cup'') was the 84th season of Hungary's annual knock-out cup football competition. MOL (company), MOL was the sponsor of the tournament, thus the sponsored name is MOL Magyar Kupa. The winners qualified for the 2024–25 UEFA Europa League#First qualifying round, 2024–25 UEFA Europa League first qualifying round. Paksi FC, Paks won the cup on 15 May 2024 (their first Magyar Kupa win), defeating Ferencvárosi TC, Ferecváros 2–0 in the final. Format The Magyar Kupa is played as a knockout tournament. All rounds are played as one-off matches. The final are traditionally held in the Puskás Aréna, Budapest.
