FC Chamalières
Football Club de Chamalières commonly known as FC Chamalières is a French football club based in Chamalières in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France. The club was founded in 1965 and since 2007 plays its games at Complexe Sportif Claude Wolff in the commune. The club has climbed steadily through the amateur division, winning back-to-back promotions in 2015 and 2016 to reach the Championnat National 3 for the first time. The club plays in Championnat National 2, the fourth level of French football, having secured promotion from the Championnat National 3 in 2019. In the 2019–20 season, the club only retained their place in National 2 by winning the last game before the season was prematurely terminated due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Chamalières
Chamalières (; Auvergnat: ) is a commune in the Puy-de-Dôme department, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, central France. With 17,276 inhabitants (2019), Chamalières is the fourth-largest town in the department. It lies adjacent to the west of Clermont-Ferrand and about from Lyon. The Championnat National 2, commonly known as National 2 and formerly known as Championnat de France Amateur (CFA), is a football league competition. The league serves as the fourth tier of the French football league system behind Ligue 1, Ligue 2, and the Championnat National. The 2018–19 Championnat National 3 is the second season of the fifth tier in the French football league system in its current format. The competition is due to be contested by 168 clubs split geographically across 12 groups of 14 teams. The teams include amateur clubs (although a few are semi-professional) and the reserve teams of professional clubs.
