FAW Women's Cup
The FA of Wales Women's Challenge Cup, better known as the Welsh Women's Cup is the national women's football (soccer), women's football cup competition for Wales. It is run by the Football Association of Wales. As Wales had no national league for women until the establishment of the Welsh Premier League (women), Welsh Premier League in the 2009–10 season the Welsh Cup was the only ticket to the UEFA Women's Champions League, Women's Champions League. Unlike in the men's game, however, English-oriented clubs are allowed to participate. Cardiff City L.F.C., Cardiff City Ladies won eight consecutive cups from 2003 to 2010. Newtown ( cy, Y Drenewydd) is a town in Powys, Wales. It lies on the River Severn in the community of Newtown and Llanllwchaiarn, within the historic boundaries of Montgomeryshire. Latham Park
Latham Park is a multi-purpose stadium in Newtown, Wales. It is currently used for football matches and is the home ground of Newtown F.C. The stadium holds 5,000 people and is named after former Wales international footballer George Latham. Over the years the club have played at a number of sites but the officers and general committee of the late 1940s took the decision to purchase and construct a new playing headquarters at a site to be called Latham Park. This decision was a far-sighted one, and the present board officers, committee, supporters and players owe much to their counterparts of some 60 years ago. The Control Techniques stand has 420 covered seats with dressing rooms for the club and the community use. Caersws
Caersws ( cy, Caersŵs; ) is a village and community on the River Severn, in the Welsh county of Powys (Montgomeryshire) west of Newtown, and halfway between Aberystwyth and Shrewsbury. It has a station on the Cambrian Line from Aberystwyth to Shrewsbury. At the 2011 Census, the community had a population of 1,586 – a figure which includes the settlements of Clatter, Llanwnnog and Pontdolgoch. The village itself had a population of slightly over 800. Etymology The name is derived from the Welsh placename elements "Caer-" and "Sŵs". "Caer" translates as "fort" and likely refers to the Roman settlement.
