F1600 Championship Series
The F1600 Championship Series was created by the SCCA in 2011. The series is organized by Formula Race Promotions, the same organization which organizes the F2000 Championship Series, and sanctioned by SCCA Pro Racing. It is a series whose champion is eligible for the Road to Indy Shootout provided the driver is of an eligible age, and has the necessary skills to operate such machine. The Series The class operates under the same rules as the SCCA Formula F. Therefore, many drivers from the local club racing scene make their appearance in the national series. 2011 Season The first year saw many club racers and well established constructors racing in the series. Australian Formula Ford Championship
The Australian Formula Ford Championship is an Australian motor racing competition for drivers of Formula Ford racing cars, held annually since 1970. From 1970 until 1992 it was a national series and from 1993 until 2013 the series was sanctioned by the Confederation of Australian Motor Sport as the Australian Formula Ford Championship. From 2014 to 2018 it reverted to national series status. The Australian Formula Ford Championship name was then applied to the series by the Formula Ford Association from 2019. Carbir Race Cars is an American race car constructor. History Sports 2000 Carbir Race Cars was founded in 1995. The first car to be designed and produced was the Carbir CS2. The Carbir CS2 went on to dominate the American Cities Racing League and the SCCA Sports 2000 class. In 1998 the first Carbir was entered in the SCCA National Championship Runoffs. John Fergus, II finished second in the S2000 class behind David Downey in a Lola T89/90. Fergus, II would win the Runoffs in the S2000 class in 1999, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2007, 2008 and 2011. Shae Davies
Shae Davies (born 8 March 1990) is an Australian professional racing driver. A Super2 Series veteran, Davies briefly drove for Erebus Motorsport during the 2016 V8 Supercars season. He currently competes in the S5000 Australian Drivers' Championship and Tasman Series. Davies began competing outside of Australia in 2019 after sponsorship issues prevented him from continuing the Supercars developmental ladder. Matias Köykkä (born November 23, 1994) is a Finnish racing driver. He won the 2012 F1600 Championship Series. Karting career Matias started karting when he was 8 years old in the Finnish 'Raket' class. His father entered him in races until 2009. For 2009 Matias signed with the CRG factory team. He won the Finnish championship in the KF3 class. For 2010 he stepped up to the KF2 class and also competed in the CIK-FIA Under 18 World Championship. In the CIK-FIA Under 18 World Championship he finished second behind Jake Dennis. In 2011 he was placed 15th in the Finnish KF2 championship. He also raced in the KF1 class. Brandon Newey (born August 18, 1992) is an American racing driver. He was classified second in the 2012 F1600 Championship Series season. In 2014 he is competing in the Pro Mazda Championship. Karting Brandon started his career in karts at New Castle Motorsports Park where he raced in various regional and track championships. He made also three appearances at the RoboPong 200 endurance karting race. Fourth was his best result when he partnered up with Josef Newgarden.
