Fábio Pereira De Azevedo
Fábio Pereira de Azevedo (1 January 1977 – 2 February 2018), known as Fabinho Baiano or simply Fabinho, was a footballer who played as a striker. Born and raised in Brazil, he was naturalized by Togo and played for that national team. During his four years in the top flight Primera División de El Salvador side Isidro Metapán, Fabinho made the title goal for at ''Clausura 2007'' during extra time against Luis Ángel Firpo. Fabinho died in the early hours of 2 February 2018 in a car crash on the BR-282 highway. Biography Fabinho was born in Salvador, a city on the northeast coast of Brazil and the capital of the Northeastern Brazilian state of Bahia. International career Fabinho played for Togo on 5 July 2003 in a 2004 African Cup of Nations Qualifying match against Mauritania. Stade de Kégué is a multi-use stadium in Lomé, Togo. It is currently used mostly for football matches. The stadium holds 40,000 people and opened in 2000. It was designed by Chinese architect Yang Zhou. The stadium was the main host of the 2007 African U-17 Championship, in March 2007. History In 2004, the stadium saw an incident following a match between Togo and Mali in the 2006 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. The lights on Stade de Kégué went down, and while the panicking crowd tried to leave the stadium, three people were killed and eight injured in the ensuing stampede. On 19 October 2007 the Confederation of African Football placed an indefinite ban on the stadium after an African Nations Cup qualifier between ended in violence which saw Malian players and fans injured.
