The Futsal-Regionalliga () is the first tier of futsal in the German futsal league system. History of the Futsal-Regionalliga The Futsal-Regionalliga West was introduced in 2005 with nine teams and UFC Münster were crowned the first champions. The NOFV-Pelada-Futsal-Liga was introduced in the 2013–14 season with seven teams and the Futsal-Regionalliga Süd in the 2015–16 season with seven teams. 2016–17 Regionalliga
The 2016–17 Regionalliga was the ninth season of the Regionalliga, the fifth under the new format, as the fourth tier of the German football league system. Regionalliga Nord 18 teams from the states of Bremen, Hamburg, Lower Saxony and Schleswig-Holstein competed in the fifth season of the reformed Regionalliga Nord; 15 teams were retained from last season and 3 were promoted from the Oberliga, namely 2015–16 Niedersachsenliga champions Lupo Martini Wolfsburg and promotion round winners SV Eichede, 2015–16 Schleswig-Holstein-Liga champions, and 1. The 2015–16 Regionalliga was the eighth season of the Regionalliga, the fourth under the new format, as the fourth tier of the German football league system. The champions of Regionalliga Nord – SV Werder Bremen II, the champions of the Regionalliga Nordost – 1. FC Magdeburg, and the champions of Regionalliga Bayern – Würzburger Kickers were promoted to the 3. Liga. Borussia Dortmund II, SpVgg Unterhaching and SSV Jahn Regensburg were relegated from 3. Liga. Futsal-Regionalliga Süd (2015)
The Futsal-Regionalliga Süd is the highest german futsal league. It consists of 10 teams and was introduced in the 2015-16 season with seven teams. The winner of each Futsal-Regionalliga takes part in the Deutsche Futsal-Meisterschaft to determine the German champion at the end of the season. The second-placed team has the chance to qualify for the Deutsche Futsal-Meisterschaft through a playoff round. The bottom teams of the Regionalliga are relegated directly or compete in a relegation playoff round. The Futsal-Regionalliga Süd is organised by the Southern German Football Association and includes the Federal States of Bavaria, Hessia and Baden-Wurttemberg.
