Funny Van Dannen
Franz-Josef Hagmanns-Dajka (born 1958 in Tüddern, Netherlands, now Germany), known professionally as Funny van Dannen, is a German singer, songwriter, author, and painter of Dutch origin. Since 1978 Funny Van Dannen has been living in Berlin. He is married and has four sons. He sings about politics, society, sexuality, religion, and many other topics, usually humorously. He accompanies his songs with guitar, sometimes with harmonica. Funny Van Dannen, Christiane Rösinger and Almut Klotz founded the German band ''Lassie Singers'' in 1988. ''Die Schröders'', a German punk rock band, made his 1996 song "Saufen" more famous in 1997. The German punk band Die Toten Hosen interpreted some of his songs, notably ''Trauriges Arschloch'', '' Bayern'' (1999), ''Lesbische, schwarze Behinderte'' (1999) and ''Frauen dieser Welt "Frauen dieser Welt" (''Women of this world'') is a song written and performed by Funny van Dannen, from the album '' Groooveman'' (2002). Die Toten Hosen (literally "The Dead Trousers", figuratively "The Deadbeats") is a German punk rock band from Düsseldorf. History The current members of Die Toten Hosen are Campino (Andreas Frege), Kuddel (Andreas von Holst), Vom (Stephen Ritchie), Andi (Andreas Meurer) and Breiti (Michael Breitkopf). All members except one are German, though Campino's mother, Jenny, was English. The drummer Vom comes from England. He joined in 1999, after previous drummer Wölli sustained injuries in a car crash. Wölli had played from 1985 to 1999 and was an honorary member of the band until his death in 2016. The drummer until 1985 was Trini Trimpop, who became the band's manager when Wölli joined. "Bayern" (''Bavaria'') is a punk hymn by Die Toten Hosen. It's the third single and the sixteenth track from the album ''Unsterblich''. It is an anti-FC Bayern Munich song. A slogan from this song has become synonymous with DTH among the fans, which can be shortened: "Es kann soviel passieren. Es kann soviel geschehen/Nur eins weiß ich hundertprozentig. Nie im Leben würde ich zu Bayern gehen." (''Many things can happen. Many things can come to pass/One thing I know for sure. Never in my life would I go to Bayern.'' ere meaning the football club. Also Real Madrid and Manchester United are mentioned along with Uli Hoeneß, the former Sporting Director of Bayern Munich. The Tipp-Kick version is more anthem-like, as it features the line "Wir würden nie zum FC Bayern München gehen" (''We would never go to FC Bayern Munich'') throughout the song, not only in the end and the emphasis is taken off the I-character (the narrator). "Frauen dieser Welt" (''Women of this world'') is a song written and performed by Funny van Dannen, from the album '' Groooveman'' (2002). The song is a tribute to women all around the world. Die Toten Hosen cover The song was famously covered by the German punk band Die Toten Hosen for their 2002 compilation album '' Reich & sexy II: Die fetten Jahre'', from which it was released as a single. The song was first covered in a concert in Rottweil, where only ladies could get in. Due to a popular demand, they decided to release it on an album.
