''Full Speed Ahead'' is a 1936 British drama film directed by Lawrence Huntington and starring Paul Neville, Moira Lynd and Richard Norris. The film was made at Wembley Studios as a quota quickie for distribution by the Hollywood company Paramount Pictures.Chibnall p.288 It is also known by the alternative title ''Full Steam Ahead''. Synopsis A couple elope on a ship, only to discover that the dishonest captain plans to scuttle it for insurance purposes. Lawrence Huntington
Lawrence Huntington (1900–1968) was a UK, British film director, screenwriter and film producer, producer. Huntington was born in London on 9 March 1900, he directed more than thirty films following his debut feature ''After Many Years'' (1930). He later worked in television before his death in 1968. His work on TV included directing ''Douglas Fairbanks Presents''. Frederick Walter James Peisley (6 December 1904 – 22 March 1975) was a British stage, film and television actor and theatre director whose career spanned five decades. He is known for ''The Secret of the Loch'' (1934), ''Gentlemen's Agreement'' (1935) and ''Murder at the Cabaret'' (1936). His later career was mostly in television. Syd Crossley (18 November 1885 – 1 November 1960) was an English stage and film actor. Born in London in 1885, Crossley began his career as a music hall comedian. He appeared in more than 110 films, often cast as a butler, between 1925 and 1942, with some of his most memorable early performances in Hal Roach shorts opposite Stan Laurel, Charley Chase, and Mabel Normand. He died in Troon, Cornwall.
