Frost (Australian Band)
Frost were an Australian pop rock band, which formed in 1997 by Benny Bishop on keyboards, Lee "Lemon" Trevena on lead vocals and Tim "Porn" Powne on bass guitar. They have used several drummers including Jerry Speiser (ex- Men at Work) from 2002 to 2006. History Frost were formed in Melbourne as a pop rock band in February 1997 with Lee "Lemon" Trevena on lead vocals, piano and guitar, Tim "Porn" Powne on bass guitar and backing vocals, and Benny Bishop on keyboards (ex-ABBAration). The band used several drummers since their inception. In 2002 Jerry Speiser (ex- Men at Work, Ross Hannaford's One World) joined on drums. Jerry Speiser
Jerry Harold Speiser (born 12 August 1953) is an Australian musician. He is best known as the drummer and a founding member of 1980s pop/ new wave group Men at Work, Note: n-lineversion established at White Room Electronic Publishing Pty Ltd in 2007 and was expanded from the 2002 edition. which had Australian, US and UK hits with their singles "Who Can It Be Now?" and "Down Under" and their albums '' Business as Usual'' and ''Cargo''. He left the band in 1984 and was a member of other groups including FX, One World and Frost. Biography In an early session, he played on Greg Sneddon's ''Mind Stroll'' album in 1974, Sneddon was also part of the initial Men at Work line-up. MGM Distribution (Metropolitan Groove Merchants) is the largest independent distributor of Australian music and music related merchandise and was established in April 1998 by Sebastian Chase. MGM Distribution was specifically set up as a distribution hub to service independent labels and artists. MGM Distribution is totally focused on a specific agenda - dealing with retail, promoting its releases to retail, ensuring that orders are filled correctly and dispatched expediently. MGM is not a label and does not sign artists. MGM as a distributor requires that the labels market their releases to the media to create demands that causes sell through at retail. MGM Distribution is a major financial supporter of the JB Seed grant program, an arts grants fund established by John Butler in 2005, in addition to their support of the Australian Music Prize. All-female Band
An all-female band is a musical group in popular music that is exclusively composed of female musicians. Jess McAvoy
Jess McAvoy is a Brooklyn-based performing artist, songwriter and musician who was born in Perth, Western Australia. Their career spans over two decades and thirteen self-funded and self-produced studio recordings. McAvoy has toured extensively across Australia, Europe, Canada and the United States. They currently reside in Brooklyn, New York. Biography Jess McAvoy was born on 11 January 1980 in South Perth and started playing the guitar and writing music at the age of eleven. When McAvoy was only 14, they created their own record label, Henduwin Music. At sixteen, McAvoy performed in Western Australia for the first time in "Battle of the Bands" at the now defunct Fly by Night Club in Fremantle, where they won first prize.
