Froilyn Mendoza
Froilyn Tenorio Mendoza is a Filipino civic worker and politician who is a member of the Bangsamoro Transition Authority Parliament as a representative of the Teduray people. Background and education Mendoza is a member of the Lambangian tribe of the Teduray and hails from South Upi, Maguindanao. Her father was the first Teduray municipal secretary while her mother is a school teacher. While Teduray girls are usually discouraged to pursue full formal education many of which remain illiterate, Mendoza was encouraged by her parents to study and was able to finish college. She obtained a bachelor's degree in agriculture at the University of Southern Mindanao and a second degree as a registered midwife in Northern Cotabato College. Bangsamoro Transition Authority Parliament
The Bangsamoro Transition Authority is the interim regional government of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region of the Philippines and has executive and legislative powers over the region. History With the ratification of the Bangsamoro Organic Law following a plebiscite on January 21, 2019, the abolition process of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) began, paving way for the formal creation of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region. Under the law, a transition body, the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA), is to be organized pending the election of the new region's government officials in 2022. The Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL; fil, Batayang Batas para sa Rehiyong Awtonomo ng Bangsamoro), also known as the Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL), and officially designated as Republic Act No. 11054, is a Philippine law that provided for the establishment of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM). Legislative efforts for the establishment of a Bangsamoro autonomous region was first proposed and deliberated upon by the 16th Congress of the Philippines but failed to pass into law. The issue was taken up once again in the 17th Congress. The legislation was ratified by both the Senate and the House of Representatives on July 23 and 24, 2018 respectively.
