The 2nd constituency of French Guiana is a French legislative constituency in the French Guiana ''département''. Comprising the western two-thirds of the ''département'', the 2nd constituency contains the major communes of Saint-Laurent-du-Maroni (population: 47,621) and Kourou (population: 24,903). The constituency is represented by Davy Rimane, a left-wing politician aligned with La France Insoumise, who won the seat in the 2022 legislative election. The Guianese Socialist Party (french: Parti socialiste guyanais, PSG) is a political party in the French '' overseas région'' of French Guiana, in South America. The New Ecological and Social People's Union (french: Nouvelle Union populaire écologique et sociale, link=no, NUPES) is a left-wing alliance of political parties in France. 2018 French Guiana's 2nd Constituency By-election
A by-election was held in French Guiana's 2nd constituency on 4 March 2018, with a second round on 11 March as no candidate secured a majority of votes in the first round. The by-election was called after the Constitutional Council invalidated the election of Lénaïck Adam, candidate of La République En Marche! (REM), in the June 2017 legislative elections on 8 December 2017. As in June 2017, Adam narrowly defeated Davy Rimane, supported by La France Insoumise, in the second round.
