Freeways In Iran
The history of Freeways in Iran goes back to 35 years ago. The first freeway in Iran, Freeway 2 was built before the revolution, between Tehran and Karaj. The construction of Tehran-Qom Freeway was started and the studies of many freeways today started before the revolution. Today, Iran has about of freeway. The total AADT of the system is 144 Million vehicles. A controlled-access highway is a type of highway that has been designed for high-speed vehicular traffic, with all traffic flow—ingress and egress—regulated. Freeway 5 (Iran)
Lieutenant General Qasem Soleimani (Freeway 5) is a freeway in Iran connecting two cities of Tehran and Bandar Imam via Saveh, Arak, Iran, Arak, Borujerd, Khorramabad, Andimeshk and Ahvaz. This freeway is part of North-South Corridor. It starts from Azadegan Expressway and ends at Bandar Imam. It runs along Road 65 (Iran), Road 65, Road 56 (Iran), Road 56 and Road 37 (Iran), Road 37. Karaj Northern Bypass Freeway
Karaj ( fa, کرج, ) is the capital of Alborz Province, Iran, and effectively a satellite city of Tehran.
