Freestyle Skiing At The 2014 Winter Olympics – Women's Moguls
The women's moguls event in freestyle skiing at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia took place on the 6 February (first qualification) and 8 February (second qualification, semifinals, and final) at the Rosa Khutor Extreme Park in Krasnaya Polyana, Sochi. The defending Olympic and world champion was Hannah Kearney of the United States. Kearney returned to the podium, winning the 2014 bronze medal. The first two places were won by sisters, for only the fourth time in Olympic history: Canadian Justine Dufour-Lapointe earned gold while her sister Chloé won the silver. The third Dufour-Lapointe sister on the Canadian team, Maxime, made it to Final 2 in the event. Maxime, Justine, and Chloé Dufour-Lapointe became the first three sisters in Olympics history to compete in the same event. FIS Freestyle World Ski Championships 2013
The 2013 FIS Freestyle World Ski Championships were held at Voss, Norway from March 5–10, 2013. Voss was acclaimed as the host in May 2008 as no other bids were received. Skiers competed in six disciplines: Moguls, Dual Moguls, Ski Cross, Slopestyle, Half Pipe and Aerials. These were the first FIS Freestyle World Ski Championships held in Norway. Heather McPhie
Heather McPhie (born May 28, 1984) is an American freestyle moguls skier. She competed for the US Olympic Team at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. McPhie earned the Olympic team spot with a 2nd-place finish at the FIS World Cup event at Deer Valley in January 2010. At the 2007 FIS Freestyle World Ski Championships McPhie finished in 8th place in moguls, and 9th in duals. Early life McPhie grew up skiing with her family in Bozeman, Montana. Both her parents were ski instructors. She is a great-granddaughter of the founders of Eagle's Store. She was a gymnast until age twelve. Deborah Scanzio (born in Faido) is a Swiss-born Italian freestyle skier, specializing in Moguls. Scanzio competed at the 2006 and 2010 Winter Olympics for Italy. Britteny Cox
Britteny Cox (born 29 September 1994) is an Australian mogul skier. Growing up in the Victorian alpine resort of Falls Creek, Cox was born into a mogul skiing environment, with her family passionate mogul skiers. Cox was the youngest athlete to compete at the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games.
