"Freedom" is a song by Norwegian DJ Kygo featuring English singer, songwriter and musician Zak Abel. It was released through Sony Music on 17 April 2020 as the fourth single from Kygo's third studio album '' Golden Hour''. The song was written by Kyrre Gørvell-Dahll, Lawrie Martin, Sandro Cavazza and Zak Abel. Music video A music video to accompany the release of "Freedom" was first released onto YouTube on 17 April 2020. The music video was directed by Johannes Lovund and was originally going to be filmed in the Maldives, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Kygo and Abel filmed some clips of them at home while in quarantine. Kyrre Gørvell-Dahll (born 11 September 1991), known professionally as Kygo (), is a Norwegian DJ and music producer. He garnered international attention with his December 2013 remix of the track "I See Fire" by Ed Sheeran and his December 2014 single " Firestone" (featuring Conrad Sewell). In late 2015, he became the fastest artist to reach 1 billion streams on Spotify, and by June 2016, he had reached 2 billion streams on Spotify. Șerban Ghenea (born October 13, 1969) is a Grammy award-winning Romanian-Canadian audio engineer and mixer. Early life and education Ghenea was born in Bucharest, Romania in 1969. In 1976 he moved to Montreal with his family. He later attended John Abbott College, Concordia University, then McGill University. Career Ghenea's career began through a chance meeting with Teddy Riley in 1993 while visiting his girlfriend (now wife), that lead to Riley hiring him as an in-house mixing and recording engineer.
