''Free Hand for a Tough Cop'' ( it, Il trucido e lo sbirro / The Numbskull and the Cop), also known as ''Tough Cop'', is an Italian poliziottesco-action film directed in 1976 by Umberto Lenzi and the second entry into the Tanzi/Moretto/Monnezza shared universe. In this movie Tomas Milian plays for the first time Sergio Marazzi a.k.a. "Er Monnezza", a role that he later played several more times, in Lenzi's '' Brothers Till We Die'' (1978, a sort of sequel of this movie), in ''Destruction Force'' by Stelvio Massi (1977) and, with slight differences, in '' Uno contro l'altro, praticamente amici'' by Bruno Corbucci (1980) and in Francesco Massaro's ''Il lupo e l'agnello'' (1980). Umberto Lenzi
Umberto Lenzi (6 August 1931 – 19 October 2017) was an Italian film director, screenwriter, and novelist. A fan of film since young age, Lenzi studied at the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia and made his first film in 1958 which went unreleased, while his official debut happened in 1961 with ''Queen of the Seas''. Lenzi's films of the 1960s followed popular trends of the era, which led to him directing several spy and erotic thriller films. He followed in suit in the 1970s making ''giallo'' films, crime films and making the first Italian cannibal film with ''Man from the Deep River''. Massimo Bonetti (born 28 March 1951) is an Italian actor and director. Life and career Born in Rome, Bonetti after several years as character actor debuted in a leading role in 1981, in Aurelio Chiesa's ''Bim Bum Bam''. Renato Mori
Renato Pietro Mori (May 29, 1935 – August 22, 2014) was an Italian actor and voice actor. Biography Born in Milan, Mori started his career in the 1950s, appearing on several television series and acting on stage. Starting from the 1970s, he was often cast in roles of inspectors, police commissioners and men in uniform in poliziotteschi and crime films and TV-series, notably '' Il marsigliese'' and '' La piovra''. Mori was also very active as a voice actor and a dubber. Giuseppe Castellano
Giuseppe Castellano (September 12, 1893 in Prato – July 31, 1977 in Porretta Terme) was an Italian general who negotiated the Armistice between Italy and Allied armed forces on September 8, 1943. Biography Military career Of Sicilian descent but born in Prato he was the son of a military man. His career in the Army was rapid and brilliant. In the First World War he was Captain of Artillery. In 1941, he was promoted to brigadier general during the Invasion of Yugoslavia, and was at that time, the youngest general in Italy.
