Frederick Charles Stewart
Frederick Charles Stewart (1879-1950) was a Scottish electrical engineer, industrialist, and patron of the arts. He was a noted benefactor and philanthropist. He was the youngest of three brothers in Glasgow who, from 1898, revolutionised heating, cooling and ventilation in shipping, railways, aircraft and public buildings around the world. Early life Frederick and his brother Alexander William Stewart (1865-1933) and brother William Maxwell Stewart (1874-1926) were born to coal merchant William Stewart and his wife Isabella née Sinclair. The brothers had three sisters, Christina Stewart, Helen M. Stewart and Ida S. Stewart. His two brothers worked in the Clydebank shipyard of J&G Thomson & Co Ltd, soon to be known as John Brown & Company, while Frederick started work with his father's coal merchanting business in Dalmuir before qualifying as an electrical engineer. Fred Mustard Stewart (September 17, 1932, Anderson, Indiana – February 7, 2007, New York City) was an American novelist. Fred Stewart (football Manager)
Frederick Stewart (1873 – 11 February 1954) was an English football manager. He took up his first managerial role in 1896 with Lancashire League side Stockport County and led them to their first title in 1900. Their success saw them elected to the Second Division of the Football League. The club struggled initially and, after being forced to seek re-election on several occasions, Stewart was replaced by Sam Ormerod. However, Ormerod also struggled and Stewart was reinstated a year later. He remained with Stockport until 1911, achieving a highest place finish of 10th in his second spell. He was appointed manager of Southern Football League Second Division side Cardiff City in 1911 and led the side to their first Welsh Cup victory in his first season. The side won promotion to the First Division a year later and were eventually elected into the Second Division of the Football League in 1920. Freddie Stone (born Frederick Jerome Stewart, June 5, 1947) is an American pastor and musician, best known as a co-founder, guitarist, and vocalist in the band Sly and the Family Stone, fronted by his brother Sly and including his sister Rose. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993 as a member of Sly and the Family Stone. Freddie Stewart (born Morris Joseph Lazar; March 25, 1925  – August 15, 2000) was an American actor and big band singer. He is best known for appearing in the Monogram Pictures film series The Teen Agers from 1946 to 1948. Career Stewart was born in New York City. He dropped out of school to work as a stock clerk and also worked summers at a Catskills resort. He renamed himself Freddie Stewart (after actors James Stewart and Freddie Bartholomew) when he joined the Cappa Barra Harmonica Band in 1939. By the next year, he was working as a vocalist with Clyde McCoy's Orchestra for $60 a week. He worked his way up to his own radio show in New York on NBC, the fifteen-minute nightly, ''Freddie Stewart Sings''. Fred Stewart (December 7, 1906 – December 5, 1970) was an American actor and director who appeared on stage, film, and television. Stewart was born in Atlanta, Georgia and attended Oglethorpe University. As a young man, he operated the Playmakers Theatre in Atlanta from 1924 to 1927, and then made his stage debut with a company playing Huntington, West Virginia. Lord Pittenweem
The title of Lord Pittenweem is a Scottish title of nobility. It was created by James VI as a barony in 1609 for Frederick Stewart, son of William Stewart, Commendator of Pittenweem. Fredrick Stewart assigned the title and lands of the Lordship and Barony to Thomas Erskine, Viscount Fenton, later 1st Earl of Kellie, in 1614. Between 1631 and 1672 the Lordship and Barony was held by the Crown. It was held "in place of the late lords" so that when the Barony and Lordship later passed to the 3rd Earl of Kellie it was not as a new creation but by an assignation of the Lordship and Barony. The title was used as a courtesy title for the eldest son of the Earls of Kellie until it was conveyed to Sir John Anstruther by Thomas Alexander Erskine, 6th Earl of Kellie and 6th Lord Baron of Pittenweem. ''The Fringes of the Fleet'' is a booklet written in 1915 by Rudyard Kipling (1865–1936). The booklet contains essays and poems about nautical subjects in World War I. It is also the title of a song-cycle written in 1917 with music by the English composer Edward Elgar and lyrics from poems in Kipling's booklet.
