Frederic Fox
Frederic Ewing Fox (August 19, 1917 – February 20, 1981) is known as the only man to hold the title “Keeper of Princetoniana" at Princeton University, and also served as a Special Assistant in the White House, and as Staff Assistant to President Dwight D. Eisenhower. He was born in Stamford, Connecticut, attended schools in Scarsdale, New York and Asheville, North Carolina, and received his degree from Princeton University in 1939. In 1941 he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in the European Theater of Operations under General Dwight D. Eisenhower as a captain in the Signal Corps until 1945. After being honorably discharged he attended the Union Theological Seminary and Defiance College. He went on to become pastor of four Congregational Churches in Arizona, New York, Ohio and Massachusetts. Frederick Fox (milliner)
Frederick Fox LVO (2 April 1931 – 11 December 2013) was an Australian-born British milliner who designed hats for Queen Elizabeth II and other members of the British Royal Family. Early life One of nine children, Fox was born in Urana, New South Wales and began assembling and making hats from the age of nine. Fox trained under the Australian milliners Henriette Lamotte, Mrs Normoyle and Phyl Clarkson, from 1949 to 1958. Fox moved to London in 1958, and studied under the milliner Otto Lucas. Millinery Fox joined Mitzi Lorenz from Otto Lucas, then went to Langée in Brook Street, Mayfair. Fox took over Langée in 1964, and later moved his atelier to Bond Street. By the late 1960s, Fox had joined the Queen's dressmaker Hardy Amies. Fox's first hats for the Queen were designed in 1968 for her tour of Argentina and Chile. Big Five (Scotland Yard)
The Big Five was a nickname given to five superintendents in charge of the Criminal Investigation Department at Scotland Yard, the headquarters of the Metropolitan Police, from about 1906 onwards. The first five to be appointed were: Charles John Arrow, Paul Crane, Walter Dew, Frederick Fox and Frank Frost. These men and their successors, with their subordinate inspectors, regularly worked on high-profile murder cases through the British Isles. By the 1970s, the term was dropping from currency. While the crime reporters of British newspapers were the first to use the epithet ''The Big Five'', the team's activities became a popular trope with writers of crime fiction, including Edgar Wallace.
