Fred O'Shea
Thomas Frederick O'Shea (5 October 1886 – 26 December 1962) was an Australian rules footballer who played for Essendon in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Family The son of John O'Shea, and Elizabeth O'Shea, née Myers, Thomas Frederick O'Shea was born at Seymour, Victoria on 5 October 1886. Football Brunswick (VFA) He played 36 games and scored 17 goals for Brunswick, over three seasons (1907 to 1909). O'Shea was a member of the 1909 Brunswick VFA premiership team, kicking two goals in the Grand Final against Prahran on 25 September 1909. Bill Busbridge
William Ethelbert Busbridge (31 January 1885 – 12 June 1943) was an Australian rules footballer who played with Essendon in the early days of the Victorian Football League (VFL). A centre half back and part-time ruckman, he was also known by his nickname "Buzzy". Family One of seven children (one of whom was Norm Busbridge), Busbridge was born to William Ethebert Busbridge (1861–1937) and Margaret Jane Busbridge (1870–1895), née Smith, in the Essendon district on 31 January 1885. He married Ethel Essendon Dean (1888–1971) on 14 December 1912. They had one surviving son, Keith Ethelbert (1917–1985). Busbridge died in a Geelong private hospital on 12 June 1943, and was cremated at Fawkner Crematorium on 14 June 1943. Jack Worrall
John Worrall (20 June 1861 – 17 November 1937) was an Australian rules footballer who played for the Fitzroy Football Club in the VFA, and a Test cricketer. He was also a prominent coach in both sports and a journalist. A small, nuggety man with broad shoulders, pink complexion and intense brown eyes, Worrall was one of Australia's great all-round sports people of the nineteenth century, and was involved in Australian football and cricket at the elite level for many decades. After his retirement, he coached both sports, and is considered the "father" of Australian football coaching. Worrall had an extended career as a sporting journalist, and he was a highly respected member of the press box right up until his death in 1937. 1912 VFL Season
The 1912 VFL season was the 16th season of the Victorian Football League (VFL), the highest level senior Australian rules football competition in Victoria. The season featured ten clubs, ran from 27 April until 28 September, and comprised an 18-game home-and-away season followed by a finals series featuring the top four clubs. The premiership was won by the Essendon Football Club for the fourth time and second time consecutively, after it defeated by 14 points in the 1912 VFL Grand Final.
