Fred Moore (attorney)
Fred H. Moore was a socialist lawyer and the defense attorney of the controversial Sacco and Vanzetti case. He had collaborated in many labor and Industrial Workers of the World trials. He played a minor role in several celebrated I.W.W. trials, including the ''Los Angeles Times'' bombing case in 1911 and the Ettor– Giovannitti case, which arose from the 1912 Lawrence, Massachusetts, textile strike. Following the acquittal of Ettor and Giovannitti, Moore spent the next several years roaming the country defending I.W.W. organizers. He was involved in the Centralia massacre trial and the mass prosecution, on charges of sedition, of the I.W.W. in Chicago in 1918. Errors in a later trial, however, led Big Bill Haywood to demand Moore's resignation as I.W.W. attorney in 1920. Moore's career was revived by his being hired to head the defense team for Sacco and Vanzetti in the summer of 1920. Frederick John Moore (25 June 1890 – 7 October 1971) was an Australian rules football player at the Fitzroy Football Club in the Victorian Football League (VFL). He became a premiership player at Fitroy, playing in the 1916 VFL Grand Final, under the captaincy of Wally Johnson, with George Holden as coach. Robert Fred Moore (September 7, 1911 – November 23, 1952), was an American artist and character animator for Walt Disney Animation Studios. Often called "Freddie," he was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. Despite limited formal art training, he rose to prominence at Disney very quickly in the early 1930s, due to his great natural talent and the tremendous appeal of his drawings. Fred Moore (2 August 1920 – 16 September 2017) was a French soldier, politician, and optician. A native of Brest, Moore was born on 2 August 1920. He fought from July 1940 to April 1945 for Free France during World War II. Demobilized a year later, Moore became an optician in Amiens. He was reconscripted for the Algerian War between May and November 1956. Moore won election to the National Assembly in 1958 and represented Somme until 1962. He held other political offices until 1969, when he resigned to return to work as an optician. USS Moore (DE-240) was an Edsall-class destroyer escort built for the U.S. Navy during World War II. She served in the Atlantic Ocean the Pacific Ocean and provided destroyer escort protection against submarine and air attack for Navy vessels and convoys. Namesake Fred Kenneth Moore was born on 17 December 1921 at Campbell, Texas. He attended Lone Oak High School in Lone Oak, Texas. He enlisted in the United States Navy on 31 July 1940. He was serving on the at Pearl Harbor on 7 December 1941 when the Attack on Pearl Harbor took place. Fred Moore (5 September 1922 – 21 January 2022) was an Australian activist for workers' rights, trade unionist and author who was associated with the South Coast of New South Wales, in particular the Mount Kembla area. He had a significant career in the mining industry for over fifty years. Early life Moore was born in Cobar, New South Wales, on 5 September 1922. He entered the mining industry at age fourteen. Fred Moore (1941–1997) was an American political activist who was central to the early history of the personal computer. Moore was an active member of the People's Computer Company and one of the founders of the Homebrew Computer Club, urging its members to "bring back more than you take." Fred Moore was also active in disarmament and social justice activism, as well as nonviolent civil disobedience and direct actions.
