"Fred Astaire" is a song recorded by Australian indie pop band San Cisco, from the band's debut self-titled studio album. Originally released as a CD-R promotional single in November 2012, "Fred Astaire" was released as the album's second Australian single (third overall) in January 2013. The song debuted and peaked at number 89 in Australia in February 2013. The song polled at number 48 in the Triple J Hottest 100, 2012. The song was released in North America in May 2013. At the ARIA Music Awards of 2013, the Andrew Nowrojee directed video was nominated for Best Video.ARIA Award previous winners. Reception Jason Grishkoff from Indie Shuffle said the song a "thoroughly fun indie pop single." Daniel Martin from NME called the song "Super-sickly indie pop". San Cisco
San Cisco is an Australian indie pop band that formed in 2009 under the original name of King George, in Fremantle, Western Australia. The band are a Trio (music), three-piece, and currently consists of Jordi Davieson (guitar, lead vocals), Josh Biondillo (guitar, vocals) and Scarlett Stevens (drums, vocals). Davieson and Biondillo share duties on keyboards. In November 2011, the band was signed by Albert Productions, but moved to Island Records for the release of its debut album. In October 2012, the band described its 'wikt:vibe, vibe' as "squelchy, crispy, streamlined, hairy, indie". The 27th Annual Australian Recording Industry Association Music Awards (generally known as ARIA Music Awards or simply The ARIAs) were a series of award ceremonies which included the 2013 ARIA Artisan Awards, ARIA Hall of Fame Awards, ARIA Fine Arts Awards and ARIA Awards. The latter ceremony occurred on 1 December at the Star Event Centre, and was telecast on Nine Network's channel Go! at 7:30pm. The Official Charts (legal name: The Official UK Charts Company Limited) is a British inter-professional organization that compiles various "official" record charts in the United Kingdom, Ireland and France.
