Piers Frederick Alexander Flint-Shipman (23 January 1962 – 2 June 1984) was a 20th-century English actor. Early life He was the son of film producer Gerald Flint-Shipman, and received his formal education at Ampleforth College. Career Along with theatrical appearances he also performed in several television series and cinema films from the mid-1970's. He sometimes used the stage name Frederick Alexander, his middle two names. Death Flint-Shipman was killed in his 23rd year in a road traffic collision in France, when his car was hit by another driver intent upon suicide. Frederick Alexander (cricketer)
Frederick Russell Alexander (4 June 1924 – 17 May 1984) was an English cricketer. He was a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium pace and off-break bowler who played for Middlesex during the 1951 season. He was born in Acton Green and died in Harrow, London. Alexander represented Middlesex in two County Championship games during the 1951 season, making his debut against Surrey and following this up with a game against Sussex two weeks later. Alexander was a lower-middle order batsman who also played five games for the team in the Minor Counties Championship, but was unable to score enough runs to secure a permanent place in the side. Alexander also played football as a centre-back, and was on the books of league teams QPR and Charlton Athletic, but never made senior appearances for either. Fred Alexander
Frederick Beasley Alexander (August 14, 1880 – March 3, 1969) was an American tennis player in the early 20th century. He won the singles title at the 1908 Australasian Championships and six double titles at Grand Slam events. Career In 1908, Alexander became the first foreigner to win the singles title at the Australasian/Australian Championships, the amateur precursor to the Australian Open. He then teamed with Alfred Dunlop, the man he defeated in the final, to win the doubles. Alexander attended Princeton University and won the Intercollegiate doubles championship in 1900 and the singles in 1901. Between 1904 and 1918, he was a U.S. top 10 player six times. He was a finalist in doubles at the U.S. Championships, precursor to the US Open, seven straight times beginning in 1905. Fred Alexander (historian)
Frederick Alexander (known primarily as Fred Alexander) (12 April 1899 – 1996) was an Australian historian who specialised in foreign affairs and policy. He was the founding Head of the University of Western Australia's Department of History, where he was instrumental in the development of the history curriculum. Biography The son of a primary school headmaster, Fred Alexander was born in Victoria on 12 April 1899. He attended Melbourne High School, and in 1916 won an exhibition to attend lectures at Trinity College during his studies at the University of Melbourne, where he intended to gain a Bachelor of Laws degree. However, he developed an interest in history under the influence of Professor Ernest Scott, and deferred his law studies to obtain a Bachelor of Arts with First Class Honours in history.
