Fraser Armstrong (rugby Union)
Fraser Armstrong (born 18 April 1992) is a New Zealand rugby union player who currently plays as a prop for in New Zealand's domestic Mitre 10 Cup. Early career Armstrong attended Hamilton Boys' High School and during that time played first XV rugby for them as well as making his way through the age grades with his local province, . Senior career He was first named in 's squad ahead of the 2012 ITM Cup, however he didn't make any appearances and had to wait until the following year before making his senior debut. With game time severely limited in Waikato, he shifted north and joined in 2014. Again he found his chances limited there, making just 1 appearance before being loaned to the Manawatu Turbos in 2015. The Turbos were in need of new props due to injuries to Ma'afu Fia and Chris Eves and this allowed Armstrong to become a regular in their side. Te Awamutu is a town in the Waikato region in the North Island of New Zealand. It is the council seat of the Waipa District and serves as a service town for the farming communities which surround it. Te Awamutu is located some south of Hamilton on State Highway 3, one of the two main routes south from Auckland and Hamilton. 2016 Mitre 10 Cup
The 2016 Mitre 10 Cup season was the eleventh season of New Zealand's provincial rugby union competition since it turned professional in 2006. The regular season began on August 18, when North Harbour hosted Counties Manukau. It involved the top fourteen rugby unions of New Zealand. For sponsorship reasons, the competition was known as the Mitre 10 Cup and it was the first season under the lead sponsor. The winner of the Championship, North Harbour was promoted to the Premiership, the seventh placed Premiership team, Hawke's Bay was relegated to the Championship. Format The Mitre 10 Cup standings were sorted by a competition points system. Four points were awarded to the winning team, a draw equaled two points, whilst a loss amounted to zero points.
