Frank Swaelen
Frank Swaelen (23 March 1930 – 23 December 2007) was a Belgian Christian Democratic politician and member of the Christian People's Party (CVP). He was born in Antwerp. In 1968, he became a member of the Chamber of Representatives. He became Minister of Defence in 1980 but one year later he became the national chairman of the CVP, which he remained until 1988, when he became the President of the Senate. He became a Minister of State in 1995 and retired from active politics in 1999 after having presided over the Senate for more than 10 years. He died on 23 December 2007 in Antwerp. Order Of Leopold II
The Order of Leopold II is an order of Belgium and is named in honor of King Leopold II. The decoration was established on 24 August 1900 by Leopold II as Sovereign of the Congo Free State and was in 1908, upon Congo being handed over to Belgium, incorporated into the Belgian awards system. The order is awarded for meritorious service to the sovereign of Belgium, and as a token of his personal goodwill. It can be awarded to both Belgians and foreigners, and is seen as diplomatic gift of merit. The order has become a long service order for people in the civil service and is awarded alternatively with the Order of the Crown, as the Order of Leopold is awarded under rarer circumstances. Hove, Belgium
Hove () is a municipality (''gemeente'') located in the Belgian province of Antwerp. The municipality only comprises the town of Hove proper. In 2021, Hove had a total population of 8,287. The total area is 5.99 km2. The municipality lies approximately from the city of Antwerp, the capital of the province. The Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany (german: Verdienstorden der Bundesrepublik Deutschland, or , BVO) is the only federal decoration of Germany. It is awarded for special achievements in political, economic, cultural, intellectual or honorary fields. It was created by the first President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Theodor Heuss, on 7 September 1951. Bernardo O'Higgins Riquelme (; August 20, 1778 – October 24, 1842) was a Chilean independence leader who freed Chile from Spanish rule in the Chilean War of Independence.
