Francis Scott (1876 – 3 July 1937) was an English professional association football, footballer who made 45 appearances in the Football League playing as an inside forward for Lincoln City F.C., Lincoln City. He also played for Southern Football League, Southern League clubs Gillingham F.C., New Brompton and Brighton & Hove Albion F.C., Brighton & Hove Albion, for whom he was top scorer in the 1902–03 in English football, 1902–03 season with 31 goals in all competitions. Frank Scott (musician)
Francis Scott (July 21, 1921 – October 5, 1995) was an American musician and arranger that was a member of the Lawrence Welk orchestra. His instruments were the piano and the harpsichord. Biography Francis Scott, Jr was born in Fargo, North Dakota. He was the youngest of three sons of Frank Roy Scott, Sr. and Alice Wilson Scott. He first took up the piano at age eight, and by the time he was twelve, he led his first band and started to arrange songs. He originally attended North Dakota Agricultural College after high school, but after a year he left when he decided to pursue a career in music. He was the music director at radio station WDAY in Fargo from 1944 to 1956 where he scored over 2,500 arrangements for the station while composing music for community theater groups and conducting local ice shows. Francis Reginald Scott (1899–1985), commonly known as Frank Scott or F. R. Scott, was a lawyer, Canadian poet, intellectual, and constitutional scholar. He helped found the first Canadian social democratic party, the Co-operative Commonwealth Federation, and its successor, the New Democratic Party. He won Canada's top literary prize, the Governor General's Award, twice, once for poetry and once for non-fiction. He was married to artist Marian Dale Scott. Frank Albert Scott (1949–2005) was a boxer and boxing coach. Career Scott won a bronze medal at the 1966 Commonwealth Games. He was a member of the Canadian boxing team in the 1966 and 1970 Commonwealth Games and the 1967 Pan American Games. During his active years, some of his bouts took place in Seattle, Washington, including an "All Star" boxing card that took place on March 23, 1968. Scott also competed in the 1968 Seattle Golden Gloves/Pacific Northwest AAU Championships as part of one of the largest British Columbian teams ever to compete. Prior to the 1968 Seattle Golden Gloves, Scott competed in the 1968 BC Golden Gloves, held at Vancouver's PNE Garden Auditorium. Austin Scott (August 10, 1848 – August 15, 1922) was the tenth president of Rutgers College (now Rutgers University), serving from 1891 to 1906. Biography Scott was born in Toledo, Ohio, to Jeremiah Austin Scott and Sarah Remey. His birth name was Frank Austin Scott, but he eventually dropped the use of his first name. Scott received a baccalaureate degree from Yale College in 1869 and earned a Master of Arts (M.A.) from the University of Michigan in 1870. Scott studied at the University of Berlin and the University of Leipzig, receiving a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) from Leipzig in 1873. After completing his studies in Germany, Scott taught at the University of Michigan and at Johns Hopkins University, as well as continuing work with historian George Bancroft that had begun during his time in Germany. Frank Scott-Walford (c. 1866 – 27 June 1935) was an English football player and manager, best known for managing Brighton & Hove Albion, Leeds City and Coventry City. Early life Scott-Walford was born circa 1866, in Perry Barr, Birmingham. Little is known about his early life, other than that he trained as an engineer and was listed in the 1901 census as a fitter. Playing career Scott-Walford is first known to have played for Tottenham Hotspur, joining the club as an amateur in the late 1880s. He played as a keeper and later signed to the club as a professional, the first player to do so. He later played as a professional for a number of clubs, known to have included London Caledonians, Lincoln City, Small Heath and Aston Villa. Frank Sholl Scott (9 January 1886 – ESPN, n.d.) was an Australian-born English rugby union player and medical practitioner. A son, E. K. (Edward) Scott, represented England in both rugby and cricket. Frank Stewart Scott (August 23, 1879 – February 13, 1943) was a Canadian shoe manufacturer and politician. Born in Galt, Ontario, the son of Frank A. Scott and Mary Stewart, Scott graduated from the Galt Collegiate Institute. In 1897, he started working for the Galt Knitting Company. In 1899, he started a shoe manufacturing company with a partner, Edwin J. Getty. In 1906 the company, Getty & Scott Shoe Co. Ltd, was incorporated.
