Frank Murphy (radio Personality)
Frank Murphy is known as a radio and television personality in Knoxville, Tennessee. He was formerly a producer for high-profile morning shows in Washington, DC and Los Angeles, CA. Frank is a member of Knoxville's long-running improvisational theatre company, Einstein Simplified and host of Scholars' Bowl on East Tennessee PBS. Murphy was the 2014 Knoxville recipient of the FBI Director's Community Leadership Award. In 2014, he was the Social Media inductee in the Friends of Literacy East Tennessee Writers Hall of Fame. Frank was named Best Local Blogger in the 2012 Metro Pulse readers survey. He was also voted East Tennessee's Best Local Blogger in 2008 and was voted first runner up in 2007, 2009 and 2010 by readers of the Knoxville News Sentinel. WWST (102.1 FM, "Star 102.1") is a radio station licensed to Sevierville, Tennessee, and serving the Knoxville market. The station is owned by SummitMedia. The station is a Top 40 (CHR) station that broadcasts with 15,000 watts of power and is known on-air as "Star 102.1, Your #1 Hit Music Station". History 102.1 FM was known as WSEV-FM (co-owned with WSEV/930 in Sevierville) in its early years and was automated. Jack FM is a radio network brand, licensed by Sparknet Communications, with the exception of the European Union where it is licensed by Oxis Media. It plays an adult hits format, in most cases not using DJs. Format characteristics Stations using the "Jack" name are strictly licensed by SparkNet Communications.
