Frank Lee (British Politician)
Frank Lee (1867 – 21 December 1941) was a Labour Party politician in the United Kingdom. He was born in Tibshelf, Derbyshire and worked as a compensation agent for the Derbyshire Miners' Association, eventually becoming assistant secretary, and honorary secretary of the Derbyshire Miners' Convalescent Home at Skegness. He was also a governor of Sheffield University. He lived in Chesterfield. Frank Lee (cricketer)
Frank Stanley Lee, born at St. John's Wood on 24 July 1905 and died in Westminster on 30 March 1982 was an English first-class cricketer and an umpire who officiated in Test matches. As a player, Lee was a solid, rather slow-scoring left-handed opening batsman. He played a couple of matches for Middlesex in 1925, but unable to command a regular place in the side he moved to Somerset, where he became qualified to play in 1929. He scored 107 in his third match for his new county, and though he struggled for runs in 1930 and did not complete 1,000 runs in a season for the first time until 1933, he was then a regular in the side until he retired after the 1947 season. His best batting year was 1938, when he scored 2,019 runs at an average of 44.86. He bowled only occasionally, but against Warwickshire at Taunton in 1933 he took five wickets for 53 runs. Frank Godbould Lee
Sir Frank Godbould Lee (26 August 1903 – 23 April 1971) was a British public servant and Master of Corpus Christi College, Cambridge. Lee was born in Colchester, Essex, in 1903 and educated at Brentwood School and Downing College, Cambridge, where he read English. After Cambridge he joined the civil service in the Colonial Office where he stayed from 1926 until 1940. He then moved to the Treasury and was Permanent Secretary to the Ministry of Food when he was knighted in January 1950. In 1951 he became Permanent Secretary to the Board of Trade, before eventually moving back to the Treasury and becoming Joint Permanent Secretary. In 1958, he delivered the Stamp memorial lecture, on the subject of The Board of Trade, which was subsequently published as a monograph by The University of London.
